Será que existem mesmo influencers de moda sustentável? Se há, quando for grande quero ser uma. Na verdade, acho que estou num bom caminho. Todos os dias uso algo vintage/segunda-mão, na verdade acho que as peças vintage já são a maioria no meu armário. E quando compro algo novo, procuro sempre comprar em marcas com bons valores éticos. No entanto, como influencers temos de trabalhar com várias marcas. Obviamente, podemos trabalhar apenas com marcas com as quais nos identificamos e é isso mesmo que eu faço sempre, mas, por outro lado, o quão relatable isso é, visto que essas marcas são sempre mais caras? Através deste trabalho recebo alguma roupa, mas será que iria comprar essas peças se não me fossem oferecidas? Claro que há sempre as lojas vintage que têm preços super acessíveis, mas as peças que compramos não são peças que os nossos seguidores possam comprar. São peças únicas, o que por um lado é bom, mas, por outro, por muito que vocês gostem das peças, não podem comprar igual. Quantas vezes recebo mensagens a perguntar de onde é certa peça e muitas vezes respondo "desculpa, mas é vintage" ou "desculpa, mas é de uma coleção mais antiga". Eu sei que não preciso de pedir desculpa, mas a influencer que vive dentro de mim sente que precisa. O quão relatable são as influencers de moda sustentável? Mudando de perspetiva e estando do lado que recebe o conteúdo, acho que podemos continuar a "influenciar" mas de uma forma mais positiva. Do lado que recebe o conteúdo, estou farta de ver hauls de marcas nada sustentáveis de influencers que recebem roupa à toa sabendo que não vão dar o devido uso a essas mesmas peças. Por tanto, sim, acho que as influencers de moda sustentável existem, espero ser uma delas e não, não quer ver o teu haul da Shein.
Is there such a thing as a sustainable fashion influencer? If there is, I want to be one when I grow up. Actually, I think I'm getting there. I wear something vintage/second-hand almost every day, and the vintage clothes are the majority in my wardrobe. And when I shop something new I always try to be from a brand with ethical values. However, as influencers, we have to work with brands. Obviously, we can work just with brands we identify with and that's exactly what I do, but how relatable is that since those are usually expensive brands? Through this job I get a few clothes, but will I buy those clothes if they weren't gifted to me? Of course, there are always vintage stores that are way more affordable, but those pieces our followers won't be able to find and buy exactly the same. Those are unique pieces which is amazing, but on the other side, you can't buy them. I get so many messages asking where a certain piece is from and I always have to reply "sorry, it's vintage" or "sorry, it's from an older collection". I know I don't have to apologize but the influencer that lives inside of me feels like she has to. How relatable are these sustainable fashion influencers? If we shift perspectives and I get on the receiving end of the content, I think they can be very relatable. Actually, I'm sick of seeing hauls of non-ethical brands from influencers that get tones of clothes that will never wear properly. So, yeah, I think sustainable fashion influencers exist, hopefully, I'm one of them. And no, I don't want to see your Shein haul.
