Amanhã chega o penúltimo mês do ano (não me perguntem como o tempo passou tão rápido, porque também não sei), por isso, hoje, tenho para vocês as minhas recomendações para Novembro. Apesar de ser um mês frio, o último mês completo de Outono,estão imensas coisas a acontecer e, já sabem, que neste post podem encontrar tudo o que podem fazer durante este mês. Por isso, continuem para baixo e vejam o que ler, onde comer e o que ver em Novembro.

Tomorrow the penultimate month of the year arrives (don't ask me how time goes by so fast because I really don't know) so today I  have for you my recommendations for November. O livro deste mês, por enquanto, ainda não tem uma edição em português, mas se se sentirerem confortáveis a ler em inglês, recomendo-vos o Hot Feminist da Polly Vernon. Vão poder aprender sobre o que é ser uma feminista, mas de um ponto de vista mais moderno. Porque uma mulher pode preocupar-se com a sua aparência e, mesmo assim, ser uma feminista.

This month's book is Hot Feminist by Polly Vernon. You will learn what it means to be a feminist but in a more modern way. Because you can care about the way you look and also be a feminist.

WHERE TO EAT
Ainda não tinha falado aqui no blog, mas de certeza que já ouviram falar do Vogue Café no Porto. É um espaço super agradável que respira moda por todos os lados. Têm várias refeições, mas os preços também são caros, por isso, podem sempre passar para um café no fim da refeição. E visitem a esplanada no espaço de trás, é mesmo muito giro.

I still haven't talked about it here on the blog, but I'm pretty sure you have heard about Vogue Café in Porto. It's a very nice place that breaths fashion everywhere. You have some meals, but beware that is quite expensive, so you can always pass by after lunch for a coffee. And make sure you visit the outside area in the back, it's really nice.

WHAT TO SEE
Novembro é mês de um festival de música em Lisboa. Acontece no dia 22 e 23 de Novembro, na Avenida da Liberdade, o Super Bock em Stock. A aposta na música portuguesa é fantástica e, por isso, tenho a certeza que este festival vai ser muito divertido. O passe para os dois dias custa 45€.

November is the month for a music festival in Lisbon. It happens on the 22nd and 23rd of November at Liberdade Avenue, the Super Bock em Stock. There's loads of Portuguese music and I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very fun festival. The pass for both days costs 45€.

Tenho a certeza que estão cientes de que amanhã é a noite de Halloween. As lojas estão cheias de disfarces para esta noite e os vídeos no Youtube com tutorias de maquilhagens super assustadoras são imensos. É uma festa divertida, claro que sim! Mas não acham que estas festas são sempre mais divertidas quando somos crianças? Lembro-me de algumas festas de Halloween a que fui quando era miúda e tenho memórias incríveis. Lembro-me de fazer pequenos teatros, ir aos vizinhos fazer o típico 'doçura ou travessura' e, claro, sempre vestida a rigor. Hoje em dia, já não me importo tanto. Talvez veja um filme de terror, mas só isso. O mesmo com o Carnaval ou até mesmo com o Natal. Não me interpretem mal, adoro o Natal, mas não é o mesmo espírito que se tem quando somos crianças, de certa forma perdemos a magia do Natal à medida que vamos crescendo. Talvez porque a vida é mais simples quando somos crianças, tudo é mais divertido, mas partilhem a vossa opinião comigo. Não acham que tenho razão?

Halloween is tomorrow, I'm pretty sure you are aware of that. Stores are full of costumes for you to wear and the Youtube videos with scary makeup tutorials are endless. It's a fun holiday, it is! But don't you think holidays are always most fun when you are a kid? I remember some Halloween celebrations I had when I was a kid and I have some of the best memories. I remember doing some theatres, going treat or trick around the neighbourhood and always with a scary costume of course. Nowadays I just don't find it that interesting. I might watch a scary movie, but that's it. The same with Carnival or even Christmas. Of course, I love Christmas, don't get me wrong, but it's not the same as when you are a kid, it feels a bit like we lose the magic of Christmas as we get older. Maybe it's because life is simpler when we are kids, we just have more fun, but share your opinion with me. Do you agree with me?

Mais um mês que está a chegar ao fim e, por isso, mais uma playlist. O que é que vocês andaram a ouvir este mês? Eu, depois de ter feito a entrevista à Jade Bird (podem ler AQUI), tenho andado a ouvir algumas das suas músicas mais antigas enquanto o novo álbum não sai. E, se no mês passado vos disse que adorava a Venice Bitch da Lana Del Rey, este mês a Mariners Apartment Complex conquistou-me. Realmente foram duas músicas que lançou muito bonitas, talvez das minhas favoritas desde o Born To Die. Também este mês vi o filme 'A Star Is Born' e claro que tenho adorado ouvir a soundtrack completa, mas as que estão na playlist são das minhas favoritas. E, como sempre, há também algumas mais antigas. Espero que gostem!

Another month that is coming to an end so here is another playlist. What have you been listening to this month? After doing the interview with Jade Bird (you can read it HERE) I've been loving to hear some of her older songs while the new album is not out. And if last month I told you I was really into Venice Bitch by Lana Del Rey, this month I'm all about Mariners Apartment Complex. These really are two beautiful songs, maybe my favourites by her since Born To Die. Also this month I watched 'A Star Is Born' and of course I've been loving listening to the soundtrack of the movie, but the ones on the playlist are some of my favourites. And as always there are also some old favourites. I hope you like it!


Aqui está mais uma ronda com alguns dos últimos outfits que partilhei por aqui. Ainda são bem frescos, mas parece que, finalmente, o Outono chegou de vez, já não era sem tempo! Por isso, da próxima vez que partilhar os meus últimos outfits de certeza que vão ser com várias camadas, malhas, casacos bem cosy e botas. É, sem dúvida, a melhor altura do ano no que toca a moda (e muitas outras coisas, na minha opinião), podes ser tão mais criativo com aquilo que vestes. Basta ficar só um pouco mais frio que fico logo muito mais inspirada. Mas digam-me, qual é o vosso outfit favorito?

Here is another roundup with some of my latest outfits. They were still quite light, but it looks like Autumn is finally here, it was about time! So hopefully next time I share my latest outfits there will be loads of layers, knitwear, cosy coats and boots. This definitely is the best time when it comes to fashion (and many other things in my humble opinion), you can be just so much more creative with what you wear. It just needs to get a bit colder that I will get so much more inspired. But anyway, which outfit is your favourite?

Okay, primeiro de tudo, deixem-me dizer que a peça antiga de que falo no título não é de todo assim tão antiga, mas é uma forma de dizer de que não é desta colecção. Portanto, no ano passado enviaram-me este casaco (já não está disponível, sorry), mas é fantástico como podia totalmente ser desta colecção, não acham? É engraçado como as tendências das estações passadas, voltam mais fortes que nunca. No Inverno passado, a bombazine foi uma das tendências. Até cheguei a escrever uns posts em que vos contei como costumava detestar este tipo de textura e mudei completamente de ideias. Adoro a vibe de anos 70 que tem e como adiciona sempre um elemento com texture a um outfit. Mas esta estação a bombazine está por todo o lado! Parece que as marcas fazem um "test drive" às tendências e, se resultar, voltam com ainda mais opções. Claro que estaria a usar este casaco mesmo que a bombazine não fosse uma tendência, mas é bom ter peças no nosso armário que ainda são relevantes, mesmo que não sejam desta colecção. Mas agora digam-me, já se renderam à tendência da bombazine ou nem por isso?

Okay, first of all, let me just say that the old piece I'm talking about on the title is not THAT old, but it's just a way of telling that it's not from the new seasons' collections. So I was sent this corduroy jacket last year (sorry, no longer available), but it's so amazing that it could totally be from this collection, don't you think? It's funny how trends from past seasons just return stronger than ever. So, last Autumn/Winter corduroy was one of the trends. I even wrote a few posts on how I use to hate this textured fabric and completely changed my mind about it. I love the seventies vibe it has and how it always adds a textured element to an outfit. But this season it's crazy how corduroy is just everywhere! It looks like brands do a kind of a "test drive" and if it works they bring the trends the season after with even more options. I would probably still be wearing this jacket even if corduroy wasn't a trend, but it's nice to have pieces in your closet that are still relevant and feel trendy. So tell me, are you into corduroy?

I love music, you all know that. And it's usually music that I always listen to when I want to fill the silence. But recently I just found out the podcasts. I've been loving to listen to some of them, especially while I'm doing my makeup or even editing photos. So today I'm sharing with you some of my favourite ones. The ones I always listen to when I feel like having some distraction. But since I'm still pretty new to the podcasts' world, I also asked some of my favourite bloggers for their recommendations. And what about you? What's your favourite podcast?

Fashion No Filter
O nome diz tudo, é sobre moda, mas os temas são sempre tão interessantes que acho que até mesmo quem não seja super apaixonado por moda gosta deste podcast. É conduzido pela Camille Charriere, blogger e estrela de streetstyle, e pela Monica de La Villardière, jornalista. Se querem acesso directo ao behind de scenes da indústria da moda, este é o podcast que têm de ouvir.

The name says it all, Fashion No Filter is about fashion, but the subjects are always so interesting that I really think that even if you're not super passionate about fashion you will like this podcast. It's by Camille Charriere - blogger and street style star - and Monica de La Villardière - a journalist. If you want access to the behind of scenes of the fashion industry this is the podcast you have to listen to.

Keeping It Candid
Conduzido pela Millie Cotton e pela Sophie Milner, Keeping It Candid é um podcast semanal um pouco sobre tudo. Vão ouvir falar desde eventos actuais, a assuntos relacionados com a cultura pop. É bastante divertido de ouvir e quase que sentes que fazes parte daquele grupo de amigas.

Hosted by Millie Cotton and Sophie Milner, Keeping It Candid is a weekly podcast a little bit about everything. They discuss everything from current events to pop culture. It's very fun to listen to and you really feel like you're friends with the girls.

The Fringe Of It
Dá para ver um padrão aqui, mas a maior parte dos podcast que ouço são feitos por bloggers, acho que é dessa forma que os descubro. The Fringe of It é conduzido pela Olivia Purvis do What Olivia Did e pela Charlotte Jacklin do Betty Magazine. Cada episódio tem um tema e, mais uma vez, parece que estão no meio de uma conversa com amigas. E caso se estejam a perguntar, ambas têm franja.

You can really see a pattern here, almost all podcasts I listen to are hosted by bloggers, but I guess that's how I find them. The Fringe Of It is hosted by Olivia Purvis from What Olivia Did and Charlotte Jacklin from Betty Magazine. Every episode has a theme and once again it just feels like a good chat with friends. And in case you're wondering, both of them have fringes.

Eu sei que digo isto imensas vezes, mas é verdade, parece que todos os dias abrem novos cafés no Porto. Só no dia em que fomos à Nola Kitchen (podem ler mais sobre este café AQUI) passámos por dois cafés que nos chamaram à atenção e ontem fui conhecer um deles. Já tinha ouvido falar imenso do Fábrica Coffee Roasters de Lisboa, por isso, quando soube que ia abrir no Porto, fiquei super entusiasmada. O espaço está bem giro e bem maior do que aquilo que aparenta quando se vê de fora, com dois espaços interiores e um terraço para aproveitar os dia de Sol. O Fábrica Coffee Roasters é conhecido pelo café e foi exactamente isso que lá fui experimentar. Não se admirem se o café demorar mais do que o habitual, porque os grãos são moídos no momento. É um excelente espaço para passar algum tempo à conversa ou até mesmo a trabalhar. Já conheciam?

I know I say this a lot, but it's true, it feels like every day there's a new coffee shop opening in Porto. Just when we went to Nola Kitchen (you can read more about it HERE) we pass through two new cafes that really caught our attention and yesterday I went to one of them. I already had heard so many good things about the Fábrica Coffee Roasters in Lisbon so when I knew they were opening one in Porto I was super excited. The place is really nice and way bigger than what it seems like from outside with two inside areas and a terrace to enjoy the sunny days. Fábrica Coffee Roasters is known by their coffee so that was exactly what I went for. Don't get surprised if the coffee takes longer than usual because the grains are ground at the moment. It's an amazing place to spend some time talking or even working. Looks nice, right?

Dias de Outono. Apesar de a temperatura ainda não estar exactamente como eu gostaria, já se sente o Outono no ar. Já se sente o cheiro a castanhas, as folhas já começam a cair, os dias estão mais curtos e já sabe bem sair à rua com um blazer para proteger do frio que às vezes se faz sentir. Já não partilhava fotos tiradas com o meu telemóvel há algum tempo, mas representam bem os dias de Outno que eu tanto gosto. E, às vezes, gosto de fazer estes posts mais simples e menos pensados, um pouco como se costumava fazer na altura em que os blogs começaram. Não me vou alongar mais, já estão fartos de saber que adoro esta estação do ano, mas quero aproveitar este post para dizer que, ao contrário do que fazia até agora, vou começar a responder a todos os vossos comentários aqui no blog. Como tenho escrito sobre diversas coisas, quero falar ainda mais com vocês e partilhar opiniões, espero que gostem da ideia!

Fall days! Although the temperature is not exactly how I would like it to be, you can already feel Autumn in the air. You feel the smell of chestnuts in the air, the leaves start dropping, the days are shorter and it already feels good to wear a blazer to protect you from the cold that sometimes hit us. I haven't shared photos from my phone in a while, but they really represent the Fall days that I love so much. Sometimes I like to do this simpler posts, with less thought to them, a bit like it used to be when blogs first started. I won't keep this too long, because you all already know how much I love this season, but I would like to take the chance to tell you that against what I used to do, from now on I will start replying to all your comments here on the blog. As I've been writing about loads of things, I want to talk even more with you and share opinions, I hope you like the idea!

Não sei o que há de errado com a indústria da moda que os faz pensar que as mulheres não precisam de peças com imensos bolsos como os homens. Sim, claro que andamos de um lado para o outro com uma mala (onde está, literalmente, a nossa vida), mas também precisamos da praticabilidade dos bolsos nas nossas peças de roupa, especialmente em casacos. É que fazem tudo mais fácil. Se pensarem bem, os casacos de homem têm sempre imensos bolsos interiores que são tão práticos para levar cartões que precisamos no dia-a-dia e, nós mulheres, apenas temos uns poucos de bolsos exteriores que a única coisa que podemos fazer é aquecer as mãos nos dias mais frios (ou enquanto fotografamos, se são bloggers sabem exactamente do que estou a falar). Estou a falar disto, porque ao contrário do que disso anteriormente, este blazer tem de facto um bolso interior e só me apercebi disso talvez na segunda vez que o usei. Não estamos habituadas a que as nossas peças tenham bolsos interiores que, simplesmente, assumimos que não têm. Mas parece que as coisas estão a mudar e este blazer é a prova disso mesmo. E se já gostava dele quando o comprei, quando me apercebi do dito bolso ainda me apaixonei mais. Bonito e prático, exactamente aquilo que a mulher moderna precisa!

I don't know what's wrong with the fashion industry that makes them think that women don't need garments with loads of pockets as men do. Yes, we always carry a handbag with us where we carry our life (quite literally), but we also need that practicability of pockets, especially in jackets. It just makes everything so much easier. If you think about it, men's jackets always have a bunch of interior pockets that are to practical to keep cards that you need your daily basis and women are left we a few exterior pockets where the only thing you can do is to lay your hands in those cool days (or while you take photos, if you're a blogger you know exactly what I'm talking about). I'm talking about this because this blazer I'm wearing actually has a pocket inside and I only realized it probably the second time I wore it. We're not used to it so we don't even check if the garments we own have them, we just assumed they don't. But I do feel things are changing and this blazer is the proof of that. And if I already loved it when I bought it, but when I realized it had an interior pocket I got even more in love. It's beautiful and practical and that's exactly what the modern women needs in her life!

Apresento-vos a #FromMyPlaylist, onde vou entrevistar artistas que partilhei com vocês nas minhas playlists, por isso, como podem imaginar, são artistas que adoro e que me inspiram imenso com as suas músicas. A primeira artista que entrevistei mencionei-a na minha playlist de Setembro e falei-vos de como andava a adorar a música dela. Estou a falar da Jade Bird e tive a oportunidade de a entrevistar. Aqui está tudo sobre o que falámos! 

You all know I love music and since introducing the music category to the blog that I really enjoy sharing my monthly playlist with you, but I wanted to do even more things with this category so now we have a new rubric that I'm super excited about, the #FromMyPlaylist where I will be interviewing some artist from the playlists I already shared with you a.k.a artists that I love and feel super inspired with their music. The first artist I interviewed I've mentioned on my September playlist and told you how much I was enjoying her music. I'm talking about Jade Bird and I had the chance to do a little interview with her. So here is what we talked about!

We are both almost the same age and we are from the time that people still bought records. What was the first record you’ve bought?
I guess our time was CD based, I must confess I used to get a lot of the disks ‘burnt’ for free so it was a little more similar to the access we have now. Probably Avril Lavigne though I was a huge fan haha!

And since we’re talking about records, for when can we expect your first album? Are you working on it?
I’m working on it right now. We’re heading to upstate New York to record the final 6 songs for it. It should be out in March next year.

The first song I’ve heard by you was ‘Uh Huh’ and I was completely blown away by it. Of course, then I went and listened to all the other stuff and I feel like ‘Uh Huh’ is very different from the other songs. Is this sound something we can expect from you in the future?
Thank you! It absolutely is, we’re really moving into a more alternative influenced space right now. I’ve been listening to a load of Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth etc and guitars tend to be what I’m taking away from these records. You’ll get everything though from piano ballads to riff heavy songs - I want to give every shade of the spectrum. 

The video is also amazing, I really love the colours and your attitude. What was the inspiration behind it?
I work with this crazy good designer/art director Kate Moross. We’ve been partners on everything you’ve seen since Lottery. She’s a huge fan of colours and I of attitude - so we kind of brought this idea of one concept/one space to the Lottery and Uh Huh videos.


What artists can we find in your playlist?
I’ve actually got a playlist called “it’s raining it’s touring” (I know ;) ) on my Spotify. You can find everything from Neil Young to Autolux to 1975, it’s a mix!

In one of your of your Instagram stories you said that you would like to design a line for girls of all shapes and heights, I’m 5’2 so I would really love that. Is fashion something you’re interested in?
I haven't always understood fashion, but since maturing a little I understand it as a form of art in itself and I’m learning to utilise that. The jumpsuits make me feel so confident a friend of mine called it “power dressing” and I think that’s so on point. The reason I want to make them is to make girls on all shapes and heights feel that comfortable too you know? 

What’s coming up next for you?
We have a U.K. tour in November, and then off to record the album - it’s exciting !!!

Hoje o 'The Black Blazer Edit' chega ao fim com a opção para uma saída à noite, porque apesar de um blazer preto ser uma peça bastante formal, também é possível adaptá-lo para uma saída à noite, só precisas dos acessórios certos. Se for um blazer longo como o meu, o que eu gosto de fazer é usá-lo como um vestido, tem só em atenção usares alguma coisa por baixo para não acabares a mostrar mais do que aquilo que querias. Eu usei uma saia de ganga por baixo e senti-me super confortável. Também decidi cintar o blazer com um cinto para lhe dar mais forma, visto que é num fit oversized, e para o tornar mais feminino. E para sapatos usei as minhas botas over-the-knee. São rasas, por isso são super confortáveis para usar numa saída à noite, mas, mesmo assim, têm um elemento mais sexy do que qualquer outro tipo de sapatos. E aqui está! Acho que vos consegui provar o quão versátil um blazer preto pode ser com três outfits para três situações, mas o que vocês acham? E dos três outfits qual foi o vosso favorito? O casual (AQUI), o para um dia de trabalho (AQUI) ou este? Mal posso esperar por saber a vossa opinião?

And today 'The Black Blazer Edit' comes to an end with the going-out option, because although a blazer it's quite a formal piece, you can totally make it appropriate to a night out in town, you just need the right accessories. If it's a longline blazer like the one I have, you can totally make it work as a dress, just make sure to wear something underneath just to make sure you don't end up showing more than what you want, I wore a denim skirt underneath and worked out just fine. I also decided to belt the blazer to give more shape to it since it's an oversized fit and just make it a bit more feminine. And shoes I decided to wear my over-the-knee boots. They're flat so they're comfortable to wear on a night out, but they still have quite a sexy element to them. And there we go! I think I totally prove that a black blazer is a very versatile piece with three outfits for different occasions, but what do you think? And which outfit was your favourite? Sapatilhas, quem não gosta delas, certo? Acho que todos nós temos pelo menos um par. Se forem como eu, têm bem mais do que um par e, não, não vos vou mostrar todos os pares que tenho, mas vou-vos mostrar os pares que mais uso no dia-a-dia. São três sapatilhas que adoro e que, sinceramente, acho que ficam bem tudo. Qual é o vosso par favorito? E da vossa colecção, quais são as vossas sapatilhas favoritas?

Sneakers, who doesn't like them, right? I think we all have at least one pair. And if you're like me you have way more than just one pair and no, I'm not going to show you my whole collection, but I'm going to share with you the pairs I wear the most on my daily life. Estas já não as vêm por aqui, em outfits posts, há algum tempo, mas continuo-o a adorá-las e uso-as imenso no dia-a-dia. A maior parte das sapatilhas que tenho são pretas (como quase tudo o que tenho na verdade), por isso, quando quero mudar um bocadinho, estas são as sapatilhas que uso.

These you haven't seen around here in outfits posts as much, but I still love them and wear them a lot in my daily life. Most of the sneakers I have are in black (as almost anything I own really), so when I want to change up a bit, these are my go-to sneakers.

THE CHUNKY SNEAKERS

o mundo aderiu à tendência das sapatilhas bem chunky 
e também eu aderi. Estas são bem semelhantes às Balenciaga, mas bem mais baratas. Adoro a sola bem chunky e são 
mesmo as estrelas de qualquer outfit.

When Balenciaga launched the 'Triple S' sneakers 
everyone went mad with the chunky sneakers trend and 
so did I. These are actually pretty similar to the Balenciaga ones, but way (wayyy) cheaper. I really love the chunky sole 
and they are always the star of any outfit.

VANS OLD SKOOL

Sinto que toda a gente tem um par de Vans Old Skool hoje em dia, mas são de facto muito cool. Tiveram um grande regresso há uns anos atrás e, desde então, que estão por cá estação atrás de estação. Eu adoro-as e gosto imenso da vibe mais retro que dão a qualquer outfit.

I feel like everyone has a pair of Vans Old Skool nowadays, but they really are very cool. They had a major comeback some years ago (that was actually when I bought them) and have been around season after season. I really like how they look and the retro vibe they give to any outfit.
