If you have been following me for a while, you know that I love to read memoirs and biographies, and you also know that I'm a huge fan of Foo Fighters and, obviously, Dave Grohl (the lead singer of the band if you're not familiar with). So you can understand my excitement when I found out that he was writing a memoir and, as soon as I saw it at a bookshop, I had to bring it with me immediately. The book is called 'The Storyteller' and it tells his story, from his childhood to today. I truly loved it, he really has his way with words (he's a songwriter, after all). His love for music really shines through. The only thing I have to say is that it wasn't surprising enough to me. I really am a huge fan, and I'm that kind of person that when likes something or somebody, I read everything about them, I watch all the interviews, and I know everything about them (I swear it's in a non-stalker way), so some of the stories he tells, I already knew. But it's definitely not his fault.  Even if you're not a fan, I'm sure you will love this book, it's very entertaining. If you are, you're going to love Dave Grohl even more.

Também gostei imenso do filme The French Dispatch do Wes Anderson.

So many times people ask me what's the inspiration behind my style, and I always say the same: everything. The people I follow, the people I see on the streets, the city I live in, the movies I watch, the music I listen to, sometimes even the food I eat. Inspiration is everywhere. This specific outfit was inspired by the recent city I visited, Paris, and the latest movie I watched, The French Dispatch. Well, they are clearly related, but these two things were very inspiring to me. First, Paris. There's not much to say. Paris is a very inspiring city, everywhere you look is art and culture, and let's not even mention the style of French women, you see so many cool outfits down the streets. I also loved The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson. His aesthetic is so so beautiful, but I also loved the style of a specific character. Owen Wilson's character wears a very mainly outfit with a beret, and I loved that combination. So here you go, here's what inspired this outfit. Let's see what's going to be the inspiration for the next one.

I'm so in love with these photos. Paris was a dream. It's such a beautiful city that you want to be always taking photos of everything you see. I love the photos I took with my phone but these ones are really special. I was very excited to shoot in analogue over there, and the result is exactly what I was expecting. I hope you like these photos as much as I do.

The other day I was listening to a podcast and the girl was saying that Instagrammers/YouTubers/bloggers/TikTokers/whatever you want to call them, can't consider themselves content creators and I really want to discuss this with you because I don't think I agree with it. Obviously, I consider myself a content creator, so I don't know if I'm the right person to talk about it but let me explain my point to you. Her point was that we don't really create anything, we create content from stuff that's already created. Well, she's right at a certain point. One of the functions of content is commercial. It's to sell a product to an audience and convince the consumer to buy it. But just like a magazine, you have the advertising pages where you get a commercial just right in your face, but if you flick the page you will find the most beautiful editorials made by amazing artists or well-written articles about very interesting topics. Isn't that content? Good content? I think so. Isn't this that you're reading right now content? And it was written by me, so I think I can call myself a content creator. And just like a magazine, you will find advertising once a while (that I always make sure to make as good and as true to myself as possible), but you will also find photos that I'm very proud of that I created just for the pleasure of it and to share with you in exchange of no money because I love creating beautiful photos and writing about things that are interesting to me. But this is just my point, I would love to know what you think about it. Can we call ourselves content creators (and, obviously, we can all agree that content creator is just the fancier term to an influencer, but don't tell anyone about it)?

We start the week with some photos from the past week. It has been a while since I did this kind of post and it's something I really enjoy doing, I love sharing these little moments with you. I hope you like the photos and wish you all an amazing week!

A coffee and a good book, one of my favourite activities.

Finally, a book that I've enjoyed. I feel like all the books I've been sharing lately I didn't like or just didn't impress me much, but this one I like and highly recommend it. I'm talking about Feel Free by Zadie Smith. I've never read anything by her, but I felt that a collection of essays would be a great first choice since it's the kind of book I love reading. The book is divided into five parts, all with different topics. I enjoyed the first one the most where she talks about current topics such as Brexit and Black Lives Matter (written before the boom the movement had last years). I really love the essay about libraries, the quote at the end is from that essay. I just didn't love the part where she review books (ironic, since this is a book review), but I didn't find it particularly interesting since I didn't know most of them. I really enjoyed her writing. Simple, easy to understand, but very smart and with depth. I really want to read her fictional work. Are there any fans of Zadie Smith? Which book do you recommend?

“Well-run libraries are filled with people because what a good library offers cannot be easily found elsewhere: an indoor public space in which you do not have to buy anything in order to stay.”

It has been a while since I last shared a film diary, actually, the latest ones that I've shared were always from trips, it was a long time since I shot in my own city my daily life, and it felt so good, I'm really going to do it more often (but the next one will be from a trip once again and I'm so excited). You can see photos from these Autumn days around Porto, I love this season so much. I hope you like the photos.

Yeap, leram bem.

Yes, you read it well. Today I'm interested to know what do you weigh. If you follow Jameela Jamil and listen to her podcast you know exactly what I'm talking about, if you don't, let me explain it. For a few years now that I've been following Jameela Jamil. I think she's very inspiring and I love how she fights against all the beauty standards and tries to change the world for the better for everyone. "I Weigh" is a movement she created, and also the name of her podcast (which I'm a big fan of). She always ends her podcast asking her guest "what do you weigh?", and I thought it would be interesting to answer that myself. As she always says, "it's not in pounds and kilos". It's about realizing how amazing you are beyond your flesh and bones. How amazing you are even if you don't meet the beauty standard stereotypes. How amazing you are and that you are so much more than your body. So, let me start. I weigh my relationships, my friends, my family and my boyfriend, my cat and my dog aka my kids, my passion for art and fashion, this blog and all the amazing people that follow it and read it every day, being financially independent and making an honest living, and being a feminist who's trying to change the world step by step. So now, what do you weigh? It can be anything really. Even if you don't want to write it down in the comments, just think about it for a while. We women, since a very young age, we're thought that we're only valuable enough if we have the perfect hair, the perfect skin and the perfect body, whatever that means. Let's rewire our brains and understand that we're so much more than.

As you can tell by the title, today I'm talking about a book I didn't like. I don't always do this, but it's a recent book (I don't think there's an English version yet), and I think I should share my opinion. I've never read anything by Valter Hugo Mãe before but I went to the presentation of this book so I kind of already knew what I should expect from it. 'As doenças do Brasil' is a book about the Portuguese colonization and how the past is still real in the present. To showcase all of this, the writer created a fictional group of people with their own language. To me, this was a problem, because it almost feels like he doesn't want anyone else to get into this world. You can't almost understand his language throughout the first chapters and, even though it gets clearer, it's still very hard to understand. Another problem, to me, it's that is not his place to write this kind of story. Sure, someone has to tell it, but I think we should give more opportunities to people who actually went through this. It's a book that has everything to be interesting, but that fails.

Portanto, digam-me, vieram através do link? Adorava saber!

Hello there, welcome! How many of you came through the link I had on my Instagram Stories? I always shared the newest blog posts on my stories but since I have less than 10k followers, I was never able to add a swipe up but guess what? Now, I can! No, I still don't have 10k (one day, one day) but Instagram made the link sticker available to everyone. I know this might not be relevant to everyone but to me and my job is one of the best news lately. Firstly, because I'm pretty sure it's the first time some of you are reading my blog. Even though I always shared it, we're so used to how easy it's a "swipe up" or any other kind of link that a "link in bio" is almost a death sentence. We don't want to lose time, we want the content we see to be fast and easy to consume (so if you're still reading this, congrats, you're one of a kind). It's also amazing for my job with brands since I now can share products or any other kind of stuff, the options are endless. You can tell that I'm excited, right? So, tell me, did you come here through the link? I would love to know.

Another playlist I'm very happy about. I think it perfectly showcases what I'm into which, basically, it's a bit of everything. It has pop, it has rock, it has indie, so many different things. Just like last month, I'm still very into Marina, I'm really a fan of her work. Obviously, it also had to have Lana del Rey and her latest album. It's not one of my favourites, but it has some very good songs like Dealer (which you can listen to in this playlist), I really think it's one of my favourites ever. In Portuguese, I've been listening to Janeiro a lot, I'm going to one of his shows this month and I've been listening to his previous work. You can listen to these songs and much more on the playlist below.
