Why Not" do Liam Gallagher e o "Não Tarda" dos Ganso.

As I predicted last month, this playlist has a lot of songs from Lana Del Rey's latest album. I bought the album and have been listening to it non stop. Some of the songs that she released before the album I already featured them on other playlists, so, on this one, you can find my favourites that weren't released. Two new albums that I've been listening to as well are Liam Gallagher's "Why Me? Why Not" and "Não Tarda" by the Portuguese band Ganso. This month I saw Capitão Fausto live, and that made me listen to a few of their old songs and some from the new album that I really didn't know. And what about you? What have you been listening to this month?

I had never meditated in my life. Until one day I was with Daniela and she suggested us to do it, in the middle of Nature, for around 20 minutes. She was our guide that day and she will also be our guide today. Daniela is going to give us some tips on how to meditate, perfect for beginners who don't really know how to do it.

1. Find a quiet place

Find a calm and quiet place where no one is going to bother you. Lay down or sit down in a pillow/chair in a comfortable and straight position (the most common way is with your legs crossed, but it can be uncomfortable to someone who's not used to it, so try out what makes you feel good).

2. Close your eyes and breathe

Close your eyes and slowly start to connect with your breathing. Inhale, fill your belly, hold the air in for around 5 seconds and deeply exhale. Feel the hair fill up your lungs and repeat these deep breaths naturally without forcing the rhythm. Listen to your body.

3. Relax

Usually, you start feeling itchy or you start thinking about something else like people, tasks, problems...but relax. Focus on your breathing and let those thoughts go away. Replace them for words or positive situations you want to attract to your life. Keep your breathing deep the whole time. Try to make a body scan, focusing on each member of your body and thanking it for its function. Like: "thank you feet for holding my weight and to take me to amazing places and to the right place where I should be at."

Extra Tips

Start with 5 minutes of exercises and slowly add more time. The best times to meditate are: in the morning when you wake up, before going to bed to get away from screens and every time you feel like you need it.

There are a lot of guide meditation apps (insight timer, calm, headspace...) that can help you to find the right meditation for you. Visualization meditation is my favourite because it takes you on an interesting journey and stimulates your creativity.

Don't be harsh on yourself and explore this tool with no judgement. Learn to be in silence with yourself, connect with your breathing, listen to your intuition and slowdown.

Fashion week is on, and that got me thinking: are fashion shows still relevant nowadays? What used to be an opportunity to see the new collections at first hand, is not any more thanks to live-streams and social media. If I used to go to Vogue Runway to check the photos of my favourite fashion shows, now I just have to open Instagram and can see a lot of videos from that show on my phone. And we also have to talk about the street style scene. I feel like, nowadays, fashion weeks are more about the street style than the collections that are being presented. And to see that, you just have to open the biggest fashion websites and see that the posts they are doing are "The Latest Street Style From Paris Fashion Week' and not "The Lastest Shows". Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my favourite designers' fashion shows, but also love seeing street style photos, and, just like me, a lot of people all around the world. So the answer is yes, fashion shows are still relevant. Maybe not as much as they used to be, and maybe not for the same reasons, but they're still a show (in the true sense of the word) that any person who loves fashion likes to keep up with.

Thanks to the #NoShoppingMonth challenge I'm doing right now, I really wanted to find new online vintage stores. There's something special about finding that perfect second-hand piece, but sometimes the local vintage stores we have are not that great, so I decided to find some online vintage stores. Of course, you can always go to the very well-known websites like Vestiaire Collective or Depop (which are great choices), but today I'm sharing smaller vintage stores with very well curated pieces. If you know more, please leave them in the comments below.

Adoro a estética deles.

I got to know The Level Store through the new issue of Vogue Portugal and really fell in love with the stores. I really love their aesthetic. The pieces are very minimalistic, and all of them would be very welcome in my wardrobe.

Recently launched, at Thrift and Statement you can also find amazing pieces. They also have a very clean line and with timeless pieces.

Mise Vintage

If you're looking for a French aesthetic (which I also love), Mise is the store you're looking for. Their pieces are very feminine, but with that je ne se quois that French people always present us with.

Trench coat.

Trench coat. A coat variety made of waterproof heavy-duty cotton gabardine drill. Since Autumn officially already started (yey!), it seemed like the perfect time to pay homage to one of my favourite coats to wear this time of the year (blazers, please don't get jealous, I still love you very much). But, trench coats are perfect to wear over some lighter basics, but still warm enough to protect you from colder weather. Basically, it's the perfect transitional coat. It's a classic. It's timeless and never goes out of style (whatever that really means). And let's not forget that it's such a classic piece, that is perfect to any occasion. I'm on the hunt for the very classic trench coat by Burberry, but, for now, this one will be my companion for the Autumn days we have ahead of us.

I wasn't expecting to bring this post so soon to the blog, but we had some rainy days this weekend, so it was the perfect time to finish the book I was reading: 'The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis" by José Saramago. I always had a lot of Saramago's books at home, and I finally decided to get to know the work of the Portuguese Nobel laureate. This book always caught my attention because of its name, since Ricardo Reis is one of Fernando Pessoa's heteronym with no death date and looks like Saramago finally solves the mistery or ends his story. Something that I really love about this book was that while you're reading it, you're also strolling around Lisbon with Ricardo Reis back in the '30s. I really loved the book and really want to read more books by Saramago. So here's another suggestion!

It has been a while since I wrote a post for the 'Book Club' category, but since I've almost finished the book I'm currently reading, The Year Of The Death Of Ricardo Reis by Saramago (I'll write about it very soon), I already have quite a few books on my wishlist, so today I'm sharing with you my current reading list.

Calypso by David Sedaris

As you know, I'm a big fan of Lizzy Hadfield's style and blog and, lately, she has been sharing the books she's reading. I saw Calypso on her Instagram Stories and got really curious about it. It's a collection of 21 essays, and it's a book that it's going to make you laugh at true David Sedaris' style.

To Die For by Lucy Siegle

I'm really loving the September issue of Vogue Portugal, and all the articles are amazing. As I already told you, this issue is about sustainability in the fashion world, and I found out about this book in this magazine. I really want to know and learn more about this subject, and this book by Lucy Siegle seems like the perfect choice since it's about the shocking process behind the clothes we wear.

My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

I'm a really big fan of The High Low podcast, and I really like to read the books they recommend. When they mentioned this book, I was really curious about it. It's a story between two sisters and, as you can guess by the title, one of them is a serial killer and has the habit to kill her boyfriends. It's a thriller, but, from all the reviews that I've read, it's also a very funny book.

É da Topshop e custou-me apenas 2€.

I already own this playsuit for a while now, but it was such a good purchase at a second-hand store that I had to share it with you. At first sight, it looked like a dress, but I really fell in love with the print. I also really love the neckline, so it came with me right away. It's from Topshop, and it cost me only 2€. It's proof that you can find really good pieces at vintage/second-hand stores. I found it at Humana, and it really is my favourite vintage store. But what do you think? Do you like it?

Sorry for the overload of photos, but I shot two rolls of film on this trip and really loved how the photos turned out, so we have a bunch of analogue photos on this new 'film diary'. But, as promised, I'm going to tell you everything about this trip. We first headed to Nazaré, where we had lunch and strolled around for a bit. If you ever go there, go up the Nazaré's lift, the views are amazing. If I had to choose the city/village that I enjoyed the most on this trip, it would definitely be Nazaré. Then we went to Peniche, where we spent two nights. We went to the beach, spent a lot of time by the pool and just chilled. On the next day, we headed to Óbidos, another village that I loved. I think these photos perfectly showcase the vibe of each place we visited, I hope you like them!
