Finally, I'm on a good track when it comes to reading and I feel like my reading routine is back, so I have a lot of books I want to share with you. One of the latest I read was 'Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow' by Gabrille Zevin. The book was lent to me by a friend (thanks Marta) and since she enjoyed it so much, my expectations were very high. And it didn't disappoint. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow follows the lives of two friends, Sam and Sadie, whose lives are intertwined around their love of gaming. So yeah, this book is a lot about video games. Sometimes we are even in the game. But don't let this put you off. I don't play video games. Apart from Sims, I don't know nothing about them. I don't know any video games, and I was never into it, but the writer really knows how to write about them without being boring. But despite the story being around video games, it's also much more than that. It's about friendship and its ups and downs. About falling in love, and falling out. It's about sucess and failure. I really loved it. It's very long but it really is a page turner, and I really missed reading something like this. In long books you can really get to know the characters. You follow them for a long time and get invested in them, either you liked them or hated them (you will hated them for a while in this book). I really missed that. Highly recommend it, and can't wait to read more from this author.

Vão comprar alguma coisa nesta Black Friday? O quê? Precisam mesmo disso? Vamos falar sobre este assunto.

In 2017, I wrote a post with 3 tips for shopping on Black Friday. In 2018, I published the best Black Friday discount codes so you could enjoy them. In 2019, I wrote a little reflection on this day (that now is actually weeks) and how we should really think before buying something. Today, as you can expect, I'm much more like my 2019 self but I still have a few things that I want to add to this subject. I try not to follow that kind of content but I'm sure that, just like me, you already saw on your feed influencers sharing the best deals, the places where to buy and the discounts you should really go for. The truth is that I could do this myself and actually gain a lot of money. But that would be against everything I believe in and against the things I try to share with you through my content. We all already know that the fashion industry is really harmful, that we are all over-consuming, and buying things that we don't really need, but we still manage to be part of the problem. So no, I won't be sharing any discount or sale this Black Friday. Just like I'm not buying anything. And I won't be sharing festive outfits from the new collections that are already at all the fast-fashion stores. I want to do something on that subject because I love it, but I will do it on another way. But what about you? Are you buying something this Black Friday? What? Do you really need it? Let's talk about it.

What to Do

I know this week was a bit slow here on the blog, but it was for a good cause. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I was in Scotland. I had a fantastic time and loved the country. Stay tuned because next week I'll be sharing my travel guide, but meanwhile here are the analogue photos I took. I really missed shooting analogue, and I loved the result. I hope you like the photos.

Last Time Around, Malmequer, Keep Calm and Shop Vintage, Fashion Avenue). Help a girl out.

If you're reading this blog post then you probably belong to my team: people who still read blogs nowadays. Of course, I consume content on social media and love it, but nothing compares to a well-thought post. That, to me, is the kind of content where you can feel the person is passionate about it. But, unfortunately, all of my favourite blogs are gone. Especially, fashion blogs. Either bloggers stopped uploading or they're just gone. I still remember the days when I took a few minutes of my day to visit my favourite blogs. Get ready for a trip down memory lane in three, two, one... I started with the Swedish blogs that were my favourites (Angelica Blick, Lisa Place a.k.a Lisa Olsson, Kenza Zouiten), I passed by the Spanish ones (Dulceida, Amlul, Collage Vintage) and ended on the Portuguese (Mexiquer, Last Time Around, Malmequer, Keep Calm and Shop Vintage, Fashion Avenue). I mentioned just a few because, honestly, most of them I don't even remember their name. Later on, I also started following British blogs that were a huge inspiration to me and they were actually quite a turning point in my kind of content as well: Shot From the Street, Ropes of Holland, Mira-me (I know she's Portuguese but I decided to include her in this group because I started reading her blog later on). But all of these are gone. I understand people saw something else on social media, something faster, but I really missed those days. Maybe not the kind of content of "this is what I'm wearing and I loved it because of this and that" but, just like everything in this world, I think you can also evolve a blog and create meaningful and inspiring content. All of this is to ask you: what blogs are you following right now? Are there good blogs still being run? I need a new list because I'm just getting tired of social media. Help a girl out.

Last month, Fnac sent me one of its book club's boxes and the topic that month was travelling. So the following reviews will be about those books, since I have never read anything of this kind, and the first one is The Great Railway Bazaar by Paul Theroux. To me, it was the kind of book that has everything to be super interesting, but that starts to get boring while you read it. Basically, it's a recount of the writer's trip between Europe and Asia by train. He retells every landscape, location, building, and the passengers he meets along the way, which became my favourite part because it almost makes you feel like you are inside that train as well. However, all of this is seen through the eyes of a white American man, if you know what I mean. Everything he sees is lacking something. Everyone he meets is somehow inferior to him. His joyful moments are when he gets the best train compartment to himself. The writer's behaviour spoilt what could have been an amazing book. It feels like he was more focused on writing this book than actually living the trip. You learn much more about who the writer is (the kind of person, his personality) than about the countries and cultures he visits. I really don't know how can this book be considered a classic. Maybe a White Man's classic, and there are so many things wrong with that.
