Hoje é o último dia do primeiro mês do ano e em Fevereiro quero fazer um desafio a mim própria. Já falei por aqui diversas vezes em sustentabilidade e de como a indústria da moda é das mais poluente e, apesar de tentar mudar os meus hábitos de consumo, estou ciente de que faço muitas compras. Não há um mês em que não venha morar cá para casa uma peça de roupa nova. Até porque funciona para mim um pouco como forma de inspiração. Às vezes basta uma peça nova para vermos todas as nossas roupas com outros olhos. Mas este consumo tão frequente, também me faz esquecer algumas peças mais antigas que também são fantásticas para partilhar com vocês. Por isso é que em Fevereiro me vou desafiar a não fazer nenhuma compra de roupa. Se vai ser difícil? Claro que vai! Há sempre alguma coisa que nós achamos que precisamos imenso, mas a verdade é que realmente não precisamos. Prometo que vou dar o meu melhor e vou partilhar toda a experiência com vocês. Mas será que desse lado há mais alguém que queira fazer este desafio comigo?

Today is the last day of the first month of the year and in February I'm going to challenge myself to something. I already talked here about sustainability and how the fashion industry is one of the most polluting and although I'm trying to change my shopping habits, I'm aware that I still shop a lot. There isn't a month in which I don't add something new to my closet. Because it also works a bit as inspiration to me. Sometimes all we need is a new piece of clothing to look at our clothes with different eyes. But all these new clothes also make me forget about old clothes that would also be amazing to share with you. That's why I'm challenging myself to not shop anything in February. If is it going to be hard? Hell yeah! There's always something that we think we realllly need, but truth be told, we don't. I promise I will share the whole experience with you. But I would like to know if is there someone on that side that would do this challenge with me?

Acho que a playlist deste mês é das mais diversificadas que alguma vez partilhei com vocês e está cheia de músicas novas. Janeiro foi um mês de imensos lançamentos e também de algumas novas descobertas para mim. Uma banda que descobri e de que estou mega fã são os Lady Bird. Ainda são bastante recentes no mundo da música, mas tenho a certeza que ainda vão dar que falar. Também tenho gostado muito dos últimos álbuns de Say Lou Lou e do James Blake. E, como já têm sido recorrentes nas minhas playlists mensais, também tenho andado viciadíssima nas últimas músicas que a Lana Del Rey e a Jade Bird lançaram, mal posso esperar por ouvir os álbuns completos. E vocês? Que andaram a ouvir este mês?

I think this month's playlist is the most diversified I have ever shared with you and it's full of new songs. January was a month of a lot of new releases and also some new finds for me. A band that I found out and immediately became a fan is Lady Bird. They're still quite new in the music world, but I'm sure they're going to be huge. I've also been loving the newest albums by Say Lou Lou and James Blake. And since I always feature them in my playlists, I'm also very addicted to the new songs that Lana Del Rey and Jade Bird launched, can't wait to hear the whole albums. And what about you? What have you been listening to this month?


Já falei do Noshi por aqui algumas vezes, mas nunca tinha mencionado nesta série onde vos mostro os meus sítios favoritos para comer aqui no Porto.  No Noshi a comida saudável impera e, qualquer que seja a refeição que estejam a fazer, vão sair satisfeitos. Eu gosto muito deste espaço e, como tal, já lá estive para pequeno-almoço, brunch, almoço e lanche. Mas, desta vez, o que vos mostro é um brunch.  Ao Domingo têm um menu (13,9€) que podem pedir, mas como fui ao Sábado fiz o meu próprio brunch com aquilo que têm na ementa. Escolhi então uma das suas famosas tostas, ovos mexidos, um cappuccino e sumo natural de laranja, tudo ficou por 19,4€. Sabem que o espaço também é uma característica que dou bastante valor e no que toca a isso o Noshi é fantástico. A decoração é muito clean e é muito espaçoso com três salas diferentes: a esplanada, uma sala interior e um pátio interior cheio de plantas onde estas fotografias foram tiradas. Fica então aqui mais uma sugestão. Já conheciam?

I have already talked about Noshi a couple of times here before, but I've never mentioned it in this series where I show you my favourite places to eat here in Porto. At Noshi you will only find healthy food and no matter what meal you're having you will get satisfied for sure. I really like this cafe so I have been there to have some breakfast, brunch, lunch and a little food break in the middle of the afternoon, but this time I went there to have brunch. On Sunday they have a menu (13,9€) that you can choose, but since I was there on a Saturday I did my own brunch and pick some things from their menu. I went for one of their famous toasts, scrambled eggs, a cappuccino and orange juice, all of this for 19,4€. You know that space itself it's also something that I value a lot and when it comes to that Noshi is great. The deco is very clean and they have three very spacious rooms: an outside area, an interior room and a little interior terrace with loads of plants where we took these photos. So here is another suggestion. Have you heard about it before?

Aqui está mais uma recap com os últimos outfits que partilhei com vocês. Qual é o vosso outfit favorito? Já sabem que adoro sempre saber a vossa opinião, até porque as opiniões costumam divergir, o que acho muito interessante. Mas, infelizmente, tenho más notícias para partilhar com vocês. Não sei se esta semana vos vou conseguir trazer outfit posts. Do nada a minha máquina fotográfica decidiu avariar e, sendo um dos elementos mais importantes neste trabalho, vai ser difícil. Mas, se tudo correr bem, o arranjo vai ser rápido e ainda vou conseguir trazer-vos, pelo menos, dois outfits, mas eu vou-vos mantendo a par da situação.

Here is another recap with the latest outfits I've shared with you lately. Which one is your favourite? You already know I love knowing your opinion and it's very interesting because usually, you all choose different ones. But unfortunately today I have bad news to share with you. I don't know how many outfit posts I will be able to share with you this week. Out of nowhere, my camera decided to break down and of course, it's something essential for this job so it's going to be hard. But if everything goes as planned it will be fixed soon and I will post at least two outfits, but I will keep you updated.

E, como prometido, aqui estão as fotos da máquina descartável que levei comigo para Londres. Estou super contente com o resultado final, o que me faz ainda ter mais vontade de fotografar. Sempre que vou revelar um rolo trago logo outra câmara comigo, por isso estou a dar o meu melhor para este post ser o mais regular possível. Londres é uma cidade com uma vibe muito única e acho que estas fotos transmitem essa mesma vibe na perfeição. Fiquei também muito contente com o feedback do primeiro do post das 'Disposable Series', por isso espero que gostem destas fotos tanto como as do primeiro post. 

As promised here are the photos from the disposable camera I took with me to London. I'm really happy about how they turned out which makes me want to shoot even more. Every time I drop the film to develop I always bring a new camera with me so I'm doing my best to make this post as regular as possible. London is a city with a very special vibe and I think these photos show that vibe perfectly. I was also very happy with the feedback from the first post of the 'Disposable Series' so I hope you like these photos as much as you liked the ones from the first post.

Algumas já conhecia, inclusive já tinha comprado, mas nesta viagem quis mesmo conhecer algumas novas e fazer um post com as que mais gostei. Por isso se são fãs de roupa vintage e estão a pensar ir a Londres este post é para vocês.

Around London, you can find loads of vintage stores and if you're around Shoreditch is feels like every corner has one. Some I already knew and bought at before, but this time I was there I really wanted to go to new ones and do a post with my favourite ones. A Rockit foi a primeira loja vintage que conheci em Londres e já têm várias lojas espalhadas pela cidade e, apesar de só ter ido a duas delas, pelo que estive a ler a que as pessoas mais recomendam é a que podem encontrar em Convent Garden. Lá gosto especialmente da selecção de calças Levis, tem sempre muitos modelos e tamanhos.

Rockit was the first vintage shop I went to in London and they already have several stores around the city and although I only went to two of them from what I've been reading I recommend you to go to the one in Convent Garden. I really like their Levis' jeans selection, they always have a lot of styles and sizes.

Beyond Retro

Aberta há mais de uma década, tenho a certeza que já ouviram falar da Beyond Retro. Aliás, antes de saber que existia uma loja em Londres, já adorava "vasculhar" o site da loja. É talvez a maior loja vintage em Londres com peças dos mais diversos estilos. 

Open for more than a decade, I'm pretty sure you already heard about Beyond Retro. Actually, before even knowing they had a store in London, I already loved scrolling through their website. It's probably the biggest vintage shop in London with pieces that fit every style.

Na Serotonin foi onde encontrei mais peças de designer. Desde Dior a Moschino, podem encontrar verdadeiras pechinchas. Ficam bem no coração de Shoreditch, por isso não vão ter qualquer problema em encontrá-la. Sigam o instagram deles para estarem a par de todas as peças novas.

At Serotonin was where I found the most designer pieces. From Dior to Moschino, you can find some real bargains. It's right in the heart of Shoreditch so you will find it very easily. Follow their Instagram to keep up with all the new pieces.

Na Absolute Vintage têm imensa roupa, mas o que me surpreendeu foi a variedade de acessórios, especialmente as malas. Uma coisa que também gostei muito nesta loja foi os sapatos estarem organizados por tamanhos, se são frequentadores de lojas vintage sabem bem que a organização não é o seu maior forte.

Absolute Vintage has lots of clothing, but what really surprised me was the variety of accessories, especially the bags. Something that I also really liked was that the shoes were organized by size, if you go to vintage shops frequently you might know that organization is not their forte.
Oxfam

As verdadeiras pechinchas estão nas charity shops e a Oxfam é conhecida pelas peças de designers a preços mesmo muito baixos. Quando lá fomos, a selecção de roupa era mais marcas de fast fashion, mas mesmo assim tudo peças únicas, só têm de perder algum tempo na vossa busca.

The real bargains are at charity shops and Oxfam is known for their designer pieces at very low prices. When we went there, the selection was more about fast fashion brands, but very unique pieces anyway, you just have to spend some time to find the perfect piece.




Londres não é de todo a cidade mais fria do Mundo, mas comparando com as temperaturas a que estamos habituados cá em Portugal é bastante frio, por isso é que fizemos questão de irmos preparadas para as temperaturas mais frias. London is not the coldest city in the world, but if you compare to the temperatures we are used to here in Portugal is quite cold that's why we made sure to be ready to beat the coldest temperatures. What we did? That's exactly what I'm sharing with you in this post!

Londres é uma cidade que adoro e, tendo sido esta a minha sexta vez pela cidade, fiz questão de fazer algumas coisas que ainda não tinha feito por lá. É uma cidade enorme e cheia de coisas a acontecer, por isso não é difícil ter sempre coisas novas para ver. E é isso mesmo que hoje vou partilhar com vocês. London is a city that I love and since this was my sixth time over there I really wanted to do some new things that I've never done before over there. It's a huge city with always a million things happening so it's not hard to find new things to see. And that's exactly what I'm sharing with you today. So this post is for those people who have already been to London and are looking for things not so touristy to do.


Estou de volta de Londres e foi uma viagem fantástica. Peço desculpa por estes dias sem posts por aqui, mas cheguei um pouco doente, no entanto já estou a preparar os posts da viagem e mal posso esperar por vos mostrar tudo. Mas vamos então começar com um dos outfits usados por lá e por algo que me apercebi nesta viagem. Normalmente, sou sempre eu que planeio tudo e faço o guia para cada dia. Claro que tenho sempre em consideração o que as outras pessoas querem fazer, mas sou eu que vou organizando tudo. Por isso, basicamente, cheguei à conclusão que sou uma control freak. Acho que isto também explica porque não sou grande fã de surpresas. Gosto de saber com o que contar. Claro que esta característica tem os seus prós e contras, mas por enquanto consigo viver bem assim!

So I'm back from London and as always I had the time of my life. I'm sorry for the last couple of days with no posts, but I arrived a bit sick, however, I'm already getting lots of content ready and I can't wait to show you everything. But we're starting off with the outfit I wore on the first day and something that I realized I always do when I go on a trip. I'm always the one planning everything. Of course, I take into consideration what the other people want to see and want to do, but I'm usually the one organizing everything and doing the guide to each day. So apparently I'm a control freak.  I think this also explains why I'm not a big fan of surprises. I like to know what to count with. Of course this has some advantages and disadvantages, but for now, I can live like this!

Acho que não é novidade nenhuma que adoro blazers. Apesar de esta altura do ano não ser a melhor altura para os usar, nada que um bom layering não resolva. I think there's no need to say that I love blazers. This time of the year they're not the best option, but nothing that a good layering doesn't solve. I really think they're a timeless piece and I have quite a lot in my closet, but today I'm going to share with you my favourites, my top 3. Do you also have this kind of jacket in your closet? The Black Blazer

Quem se lembra da minha saga à procura do blazer preto perfeito? Demorou a encontrá-lo, mas tenho a dizer que foi das minhas melhores compras. É clássico, versátil e tenho a certeza que vai estar no meu closet durante muitos anos. Acho mesmo que é uma peça em que devem investir, porque é mesmo um básico e (tal como provei no 'The Black Blazer Edit' que fiz na altura) podem usar em diversas ocasiões.

Who remembers my search for the perfect black blazer? It took me some time to find it, but I have to say it was one of the best purchases I've made. It's classic, versatile and I'm sure it's going to be in my closet for many years. I really think that it's a piece you should invest in and (like I proved with 'The Black Blazer Edit' I did at the time) you can wear it to several different occasions.

The Corduroy Blazer

Esta compra foi muito influenciada por esta tendência da estação, mas acho que nunca me vou cansar deste blazer. Já há algum tempo que a bombazine me tinha conquistado e esta cor é simplesmente lindíssima. Além disso, este tipo de tecido é sempre mais quente que o normal tecido dos blazers, por isso é perfeito para esta altura do ano.

This purchase was really influenced by this season's trend, but I don't think I will ever get tired of this blazer. Corduroy has been a favourite for a while now and this colour is simply gorgeous. Besides that, this kind of fabric is a bit warmer than the usual fabric of blazers so it's perfect for this time of the year.

 The Checked Blazer

E, por último, penso que um blazer em xadrez também é um clássico. São perfeitos para usar com aqueles outfits mais básicos em que um padrão, mesmo que sendo preto e branco, dá sempre outro ar. 

And last but not least, I think that a checked blazer is also a classic. They're perfect to wear with those very basic outfits to jazz it up a bit with a print, even if it's black and white.

Tirar fotos em público pode ser uma valente chatice. Já falei sobre isto por aqui e demorou o seu tempo para me sentir confortável a fazê-lo. Não é natural para mim estar no meio da rua a posar para a câmara, antes costumava procurar os sítios mais sossegados que pudesse encontrar, mas agora já não me faz grande diferença se há imensa gente a passar (e, consequentemente, a olhar). O que mudou? Infelizmente, não tenho para vocês um truque de magia infalível que vos vai fazer estar super confortáveis e confiantes, o que me ajudou foi o tempo e fazê-lo com frequência. Assim que começas a fotografar várias vezes por semana, vais ficando mais confortável e irá chegar o dia em que já não te importas com as pessoas à tua volta e apenas te focas na câmara. Algo que também ajuda muito é estar comfortável com a pessoa que te está a fotografar. A maior parte das vezes, fotografo com a Marta ou com a Li, também elas bloggers, o que ajuda imenso. Por isso não, não tenho uma fórmula secreta para vos ajudar a combater a timidez, mas não desistam, porque se eu já não me incomodo (e olhem que eu sou muito tímida), também vocês vão conseguir!

Taking photos in public can be a real pain in the ass. I already talked a bit about it and it took me a long time to be comfortable enough to be posing to the camera in the middle of the street. If before I used to look for the quietest place in town, right now I don't really mind taking photos where loads of people are passing by (and also looking at you). What changed? Unfortunately, I don't have for you a magic trick that will make you instantly feel super comfortable and confident, but what really helped me was time and doing it often. Once you start doing it on a daily basis, you will get to the point that you just don't care anymore about the people around you and just focus on the camera. Something that it's also very important is to be comfortable with the person who's shooting you. Most of the time I shoot with Marta or Li, they're also bloggers so that's very helpful. So no, I don't have a secret formula to help you fight shyness, but don't give up, if I can do it (and I'm really shy), you can also do it!

Se comecei a semana a anunciar o final de uma série aqui no blog, hoje começamos uma nova. Já tinha saudades de fotografar em analógico, mas a minha máquina avariou e, consequentemente, comecei a fotografar em filme muito menos. Mas esta avaria não é desculpa para nada e foi assim que surgiram as "Disposable Series". Tenho usado uma máquina descartável para documentar os meus dias e vou então começar a partilhar essas fotos com vocês neste novo post. Não sei com que regularidade os vou publicar, mas estou super entusiasmadda para fotografar em filme novamente. Trouxe uma máquina descartável comigo para Londres, por isso o próximo post será com fotos de cá. Espero que gostem das fotos!

If I started the week announcing the end of the coffee talk series, today we start a new one. I really missed shooting in film, but my analogue camera broke so I stopped shooting in film. But having my camera broken is not an excuse and that's how the 'Disposible Series' were born. I've been using a disposable camera to document my days and I will start sharing those photos with you in this post. I don't know how often I'm going to publish them, but I'm super excited to start shooting in film again. I've brought a disposable camera with me to London so the next post will be with some photos from here. I hope you like the photos!
