And the last day of the year has arrived. I don't even know what to say, but tomorrow I'm going to post a recap of the year, so tomorrow I'll talk a bit more about my 2020 and how I felt. Today I have a few ways how to celebrate New Year's Eve today. If like me, you're staying at home, I share three ways on how to do it and still have a blast. I hope you have fun and happy New Year!

1. Host A Virtual Party

If there's one thing we all learned this year is how to organize virtual hangouts, so why not doing it this New Year's Eve and organize a virtual party? It's an excellent reason to dress up, put some makeup on and have fun with the people you're closest with.

2. Play Board Games

If you're able to spend New Year's Eve with your family and some friends, something I love doing is to play board games. There are loads of options and they're really fun. My favourites are Scrabble and Monopoly.

3. Host A Movie Marathon

Make a big bowl of popcorns, and host a movie marathon for one (or how many you want). Harry Potter is a favourite for me, and I love watching it during this time of the year.

Since I can remember that I say that I prefer Christmas over my birthday. It's a time of the year that I love, but this year I came to a conclusion. What I really like it's the whole month of December, not Christmas itself. What I love it's all the Christmas' preparations. The colder days, the lights on the streets, getting the Christmas tree, buying all the gifts, hang out with friends (despite this year being a bit different). That's what I really love. Christmas day goes by so fast that it's hard to enjoy it to the fullest. "Yesterday" I was so excited for Christmas day, and today is already gone. So I think I can say that I actually prefer my birthday over Christmas, but the month of December and the holiday season will always be on top. But what do you think about it? Do you think you really love Christmas? Let me know.

And I can take another book off from the list of Saramago's books to read. This time I decided to read Raised From The Ground, a novel the follows the lives of the Mau-Tempo family as national and international events happen in the background. Mau-Tempo were a poor family, rural workers, explored, a lot of times living with hunger, and a lot of times spending time in prison for trying to change that. Set in Alentejo, a southern province of Portugal, it shows the antifascist movement in Alentejo, and it really showcases Saramago's political views (he never hide he was communist). I really liked the book, because even though showcases misery, it sounds like a homage to all those people. However, it was probably the hardest book of the author to read because sometimes it was a bit confusing. The novel follows three generations of this family, and they all have quite the same characteristics, and sometimes I found myself a bit lost between all the characters. It's not my favourite, but it made me realize how fortunate I am for being able to read such an amazing writer in his original form.

Well, I'm back. Last Friday there was no post, I decided to take the day off (actually, two days off since on the day before I always have to prepare the post), but today we're back to regular programming. Today's post was supposed to be something else. I have some festive-inspired photos to share with you, and I was thinking about sharing some dresses with you. But, deep down, I don't believe we should buy new clothes every single new year's eve, so that's something I don't want to promote. A lot of bloggers do that (and myself included) because it's easy monetizing content. I share some clothes and if you buy it, I get a commission. It's easy to do, it's easy to buy, and in the end, we can earn some money. So to be really transparent with you, I do this most of the times with books. Every time I share a book review I leave a link where you can buy the book, and, as I said, I earn a commission. Sometimes I also do this with clothes, but only if I really love them, and usually, they're from sustainable brands. And basically, that is. I want to be really honest with you, so, today, instead of the dresses that you would probably only wear once, here's an outfit I wore a few days ago that you can easily recreate with clothes you have at home. I hope you like it, and that you're inspired by it.

Today's post is very quick. I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! I hope you have an amazing day and really enjoy it as best as you can.

With the end of the year quickly approaching, I decided to revisit the goals I set last year. As I always say, they're not really goals since I hate having that kind of pressure on me, they're more like things I would like to change about myself. You can read the post I wrote at the time HERE, but, basically, I managed to achieve two of the three things I proposed myself to do. Not bad in my opinion.

The thing I didn't do was not checking my phone first thing in the morning. I still do it and, honestly, I don't think I will stop doing it. It helps me wake up, I don't stay in front of it for hours (I'm in my phone 5 minute tops reading the news *cough*cough* and checking Instagram), and it doesn't stop me for reading a book after it (a new habit I acquired this year).

The cat-eye can be tricky. Since I tried it that I became a huge fan and since then that its part of my makeup routine. I'm not a professional, but I went from never getting it right at first (it was so frustrating that sometimes I had to give up) to do it in five minutes. So here is all about it.

The Products

The right products that be a huge help and after trying a few, the Vinyl Waterproof Black Dipliner from Flormar is my favourite. It really is very easy to use, and it has a very beautiful finish. With the eyeliner, a good mascara is mandatory, but it's something that I've been changing a lot.

The Shape

There are a lot of different cat-eyes and the only way to find the one you prefer is to try them out. You can make it tricker, lighter, through the all eye, shorter, you just have to try it and see which one you think looks better on you. I really like it very tick and ending in the middle of the eye, but I've been through different phases.

How To Do It

I already posted on Instagram Reels a video where it's probably easier for you to see how I do it, you can watch it HERE, it's really easy. I start by drawing a line from the tip of the eye to the outside in the direction of the eyebrow. Then, on the other way, I draw a line with the thickness I want it to have. Then I fill it and it's done.

Eu sei que o título deste post é 'It´s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year', mas a verdade é que nem sempre é assim.

Do you remember THESE photos I showed you last week? Here is the second part, and now in a more Christmassy mood since Christmas' Eve is right around the corner. On that post, I already told you how my Christmas is going to look like, but I feel like there's something I should also talk about. I know the title of this post is 'It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year', but, in fact, it might not be. Christmas can be a very hard time for a lot of people. I do have days that I feel very festive, but it's also a very nostalgic time for me. I do love listening to Christmas' songs, watch Vlogmas on Youtube and see this kind of content, but if that's something you don't enjoy, I totally get it. Just do what feels right for you and don't pressure yourself to feel a certain way. During this time there's always a vibe of forced happiness in the air, so the message here is: do whatever you can to make this time of the year bearable and if that means don't see this kind of content, I totally get it. And if for some reason you're feeling sad or alone and want to talk with someone, you can always reach me on Instagram, e-mail, whatever...that's the beauty of social media.

Since I read 'Everything I Know About Love' that I became a fan of Dolly Alderton's writing. So, when I knew she was launching her first novel, I was very excited about it. And that's the book I'm talking about today: Ghosts. On this book, Dolly takes us through the life of Nina, a food writer in her early thirties who's decided to join the world of online dating, after ending a seven-year-long relationship. We also take a look into her relationship with her parents and her friendship with some girls that are at very different stages in life. I really enjoyed the story, it was very entertaining, I really loved following her dating life and all the trouble (a.k.a ghosting) it comes with online dating, but it didn't blow me away. I was expecting more. A lot of times, it reminded me of Expectation by Anna Hope, a book I read last year. It's an easy and light read, something I needed right now after reading so many classics, but I wouldn't say it's an amazing book. It's okay. I enjoyed her memoir so much better, but I get it, it was her debut novel and it's probably easier to write about your own life than writing an engaging story with fictional characters.

It has been a while since I last did a recap with my latest outfits, and it's something I really enjoy doing so I can know your opinion on each one is your favourite. It's always very fun because you usually always pick different ones. My favourites are the fourth and sixth, but probably because I'm really into that tone of green right now. But what about you? Which one is your favourite?

Passo a explicar. Mas agora digam-me, valeu a pena? Gostam do outfit? Digam-me nos comentários.

It comes this time of the year and the people who usually shoot their outfits always face a dilemma: with or without a coat? Let me explain. During Autumn is really easy to create different layers without being essential to wear a big coat over it. Maybe a blazer or a trench coat, jackets that let you show the outfit that it's underneath. However, when it gets colder, a warm coat is essential, and most times those coats hide the outfit that we're wearing. The coat becomes the outfit. It's the first piece that you see, and the outfit you really wanted to share gets hidden under a big chunk of fabric. So that's the dilemma. To shoot with or without a coat? On this outfit, for example, I decided to shoot with no coat. Obviously, when I was done shooting, I put it on my shoulders right away, but I really wanted to show you this outfit. Now tell me, was it worth it? Do you like this outfit? Tell me on the comments.

Super cheesy, I know, mas acredito mesmo nisto.

And it's officially open the festive season here on the blog. I know that we won't have a lot of parties to attend this year, the gatherings will be very different from usual, and because of all of that we might not feel like dressing up, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate. I truly believe that the Christmas spirit doesn't depend on street lights, Christmas markets and endless shopping. The Christmas spirit lives in each one of us. Super cheesy, I know, but I really believe it.

If there's something I've learned this year was how to appreciate the small things in life and that's what I'm planning to do this Christmas. Enjoy each moment and do the best I can. I'm going to have a very different Christmas from what I usually have, but I can't remember that last year I was in such a Christmas mood as I am this year. I want a calm and relaxed Christmas with the people I care the most.

This would be a good outfit for a party. To be completely honest with you, I wasn't planning on posting this outfit today. I had a lot of outfits to share with you (even more Christmassy), but I shot them on film and unfortunately, I lost all the photos. This was the only one I shot with the digital camera and I really like these photos, so here they are. And so it's open the festive season and who knows, maybe I will be able to shoot some more outfits.
