It has been a while since I last shared with you an updated reading list, so today I decided to share with you the books I want to read. Actually, my reading list is huge right now, however, I decided to share with you the three books I'm the most curious to read. If you have any other suggestions, leave them on the comments, I would love to know what you're currently reading.

Christodora by Tim Murphy

I already ordered this book, now I'm waiting for it to arrive to start reading it. I saw it on Lizzy Hadfield's stories (a blogger that I really love, and that has been sharing a lot of books lately) and was very curious about it. From what I've read about it, the story is set in New York in the '80s, so it has everything for me to love it.

Blindness by José Saramago

As you know, I'm a huge fan of José Saramago and I really want to read more books by him. A lot of you recommended 'Blindness' to me, and since it's one of his most famous books, it is the next one on my list.

The White Album by Joan Didion

Also last year, I've read a book by Joan Didion and want to read more books by her this year. The next one will be 'The White Album', a collection of essays published in several magazines in which the main theme is California in the late 60s.

First playlist of the year, and it comes with some new stuff. As usual, it has the newest Tame Impala song (get ready, because on the 14th of February they're launching their new album, so next's month playlist will be full with Tame Impala's songs). But this month I've been also listening to a few albums from last year, one of them is the newest album by Liam Gallagher. I really loved his first solo album, and since I found out that he's coming to Portugal this Summer, I just had to start listening to his newest stuff. But you can listen to everything I've been into this month on the playlist below.

If you follow me over on Instagram, you know that last weekend I was in Munich. I had some amazing days and put together in this post a few photos and memories from that trip. These kind of posts really are something that I want to do more often. After doing the questions & answers post where I explored scanning, it really is something that I want to explore even more as I've done in this post for example. I hope you like the idea.

I have always been a huge fan of all-black outfits. In fact, a few years ago you would only see me wearing neutral colours, and it's still something I'm very much a fan of. However, lately, I've been incorporating more colour into my outfits, and I've been having a lot of fun playing up with different tones. It really is very fun to wear colours that you usually don't mix, and create unpredictable colour palettes. This outfit is a good example of that. I know they're very sober colours, but I really loved pairing navy blue with the brick orange. A winning colour combination that gets hand in hand with one of my favourites: red with pink, a colour combination that you either love or hate, but I definitely belong to the first group. And, last but not least, a colour combination that I'm really into right now and that is the next one that I'm going to try, blue and green. There's a reason why each colour is associated with an emotion, and also that the colours we wear can influence what people perceive of us. Believe it or not, but colours can be very powerful.

So here is the first book I've read this book and, as I said on my Instagram, I'm a bit conflicted about it. It's a massive book, around 900 pages to be more precise, and it's really hard to talk about it without spoiling it, but I will do my best. The story is told by Theo, a 13-year-old boy that survives a terrible accident at the Metropolitan Museum, unfortunately, his mother dies at the same accident. Between all the mess, the boy steals his mother's favourite painting, The Goldfinch. It's hard for me to write about this book because sometimes it's so detailed that can get a bit boring, but I never wanted to abandon it. However, around the middle of the book, the story jumps 10 years, and this second part really captived me. But no doubt that Donna Tartt is an excellent writer. It's a book about love and loss, about the capacity to reinvent ourselves, and a love letter to great art. Even though it didn't captivate me right away, I really recommend its reading. I read it a few weeks ago, and there are a few quotes that are still in my mind, it's a very memorable book. I also found out that, last year, there was a movie based on this book, so that's definitely on my list of movies to watch, I'm really curious about it.

"When you feel homesick, 'he said, 'just look up. Because the moon is the same wherever you go."

When I told you about the things I wanted to do this year (you can read the post HERE), you probably remember that I wanted to start a journal. We're only in the first month of the year, but I think it's going quite well so far. But keep reading to know more about it.

The Journal

Finding the journal itself was very easy. I knew it had to be from one of my favourite Portuguese brands, Fine&Candy. It's very simple, but exactly what I wanted. I wanted plain pages because, besides writing, I also want to add photos and any other kind of memories.

What I Write

The bullet journal is a very popular method (you can search it on Youtube to know what I'm talking about), but I didn't want this journal to focus on my work or to be a daily-life planner. I wanted something more personal. I don't write every day, but I write every time it makes sense to me (never forgetting to write down the day). I think it's more a notebook with my memories of the year than a journal. Besides that, I also have a page to write down the books I'm reading, and another page to write down some of my favourite quotes.

Malhas.

Knitwear. I'm pretty sure it's part of your winter wardrobe. They're the warmest sweaters you can wear, and really easy to layer with other tops. As you know, I'm paying more attention to fabrics and the quality of them, and jumpers included. However, finding knitwear with natural fibres is really hard, but I already have some go-to shops, and that's exactly what I'm sharing with you today.

1. Vintage Stores

I know it's not exactly a store, but my best knit sweaters are from vintage stores, and, obviously, it's the most sustainable option. If you don't have vintage stores where you live, you can always look up online on websites like Depop, Vestiaire Collective, or online vintage stores.

2. United Colors of Benetton

The jumper I'm wearing is from Benetton, and it's one of my favourites. It's 100% wool (something very rare to find), and very cosy. Of course, these wool jumpers are a bit more expensive than the ones you find of synthetic fibres, but they're warmer, and they'll definitely last longer.

3. H&M Premium Collection

H&M is doing an amazing job with their sustainable lines, but they also have a new line that I'm very much a fan of, the Premium Collection, where you can find knitwear with good quality.

O livro segue a vida de três raparigas: Hannah, Cate and Lissa.

Today I bring you another book I've read last year, but 'Expectation' by Anna Hope was a book that I really loved, so I had to write a post about it. The book follows the lives of three girls: Hannah, Cate and Lissa. They used to be good friends, but ten years went by, and they drifted apart, and the three seem lost and dissociated from who they were and who they wanted to become. It's a novel that explores the highs and lows of friendship. It's about the weight of expectation versus the harsh realities of life. You should definitely read it, but don't expect crazy twists or mind-blowing moments, which to me is not a bag thing. It's just so beautifully real and a very relatable story which, for me, makes it a very good book. And, as a woman, I'm sure you will see parts of yourself in at least one of the characters. I also loved Anna Hope's writing. The book is written in a three-way narrative, and in each one, you can see the perspective of each character. One of my favourites of 2019, and can't wait to read more books by Anna Hope.

"The afternoon deepens. The light grows viscous."

Nowadays, we take so many photos with our phones that we end up forgetting about them. That's why I remembered to do a new post here on the blog, On My Camera Roll, where I'll share with you photos that I take with my phone. Some I've shared on my Stories, others I haven't, but this way they will not be forgotten, and I can share a bit more of my daily life with you. I hope you like this idea.

I still remember when I was a teenager and doubted everything I wore. I wanted to experiment with my style, but I was ashamed at the same time. I was stuck in my comfort zone, and getting out of it was very scary to me. I remember that even wearing red lipstick made me feel like everyone was staring at me. Now it's very different, I have the confidence to wear anything I feel like wearing, but that doesn't mean that sometimes I don't get stuck in my style comfort zone. I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl (let's switch the shirt for a jumper this time of the year) and I really feel comfortable in that kind of outfit. However, I do like to push myself out of that, and here is an outfit that really made me get out of my comfort zone. There are certain pieces of clothing that might challenge us a bit, that made us think if it was a right choice buying it. To me, it was this skirt. I bought it last year, and, even though I love it, a bodycon skirt it's not something you see me wearing all the time. So this leads me to a tip that always works for me: wear that item with basics and neutral colours. That's exactly what I did here, and I felt amazing. I know that sometimes it looks like we bloggers/Instagrammers/influencers are the most confident people in this world, but we also have doubts, but it's wonderful when we can get over them.

It has been a while since I wrote a post about the podcasts I've been listening to, but it was about time since my favourites list just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I listen to at least one episode every single day, and I really had to share with you my latest finds. Tell me your favourite podcasts on the comments below. And if you want more recommendations you can read THIS and THIS post.

1. Sobremesa

'Sobremesa' by Mafalda Beirão is my latest find, and I'm loving it. The concept is a bit different, because, even though is a weekly podcast, they're going to be only 10 episodes (for now, as Mafalda says). It's on its seventh episode, and until now I loved them all. Mafalda has a guest every episode with who she discusses a different subject.

2. Good For You

Descobri o 'Good For You' da Whitney Cummings um pouco por acaso.

I found 'Good For You' by Whiney Cummings a bit randomly. I already knew her work (please watch her Netflix stand-up special, 'Can I Touch It?', it's really funny), but as a huge fan of Foo Fighters, I had to listen to the interview she did to Dave Grohl. And I enjoyed it so much that I had to listen to the other episodes straight away. It's a weekly podcast, every episode she has a different guest, and, obviously, it's really really funny.

3. Traz Cerveja

'Traz Cerveja' by Diogo Fara and Pedro Durão is, to me, the best podcast with an interview format. They are two comedians whose job I really like, and the conversations are very informal, and all the guests have been great. It really is one of those podcasts that makes you laugh out loud.

Mas digam-me, qual o vosso outfit favorito?

Here are some of my latest outfits. Even though I love summer, there's nothing like this time of the year when it comes to getting dress up, and anyone who's into fashion will agree with me. We have so much more options, and it's so much fun to play with all the different layers. But tell me, which outfit is your favourite? I really like number 1 and number 4. I'll be waiting for your choices on the comments below.

Gostei imenso do resultado destas fotos.

Here are the first film photos of 2020, with a few photos from my New Year's Eve. I really like how they turned out. I used a film that I've never used before, the Kodak Ultramax 400, and it made all the difference. It's really fun to see how you get different results with different films. And realize how different films work in different kinds of light. Every day I love more analogue photography, and I don't get tired of saying it.
