Se me seguem nas redes sociais, provavelmente, já viram que estou a fazer um campanha com a Wook. Este post não faz parte da campanha, mas, tive a possibilidade de escolher alguns livros, e este é um deles. Falo do 'O Verão em que Quebramos Todas as Regras' da K.L.Walther. Se estão no TikTok, tenho a certeza que já ouviram falar deste livro e eu estava super curiosa para o ler. E, depois de o ler, consigo perceber todo o hype. Não é uma história mindblowing, mas é, para mim, uma leitura perfeita para o Verão. É leve, mas, ao mesmo tempo, tem conteúdo. É tudo aquilo que eu quero para ler enquanto estou deitada na areia, a ouvir o som do mar e a sentir o calor do Sol nas minhas costas. O livro segue Meredith Fox durante uma semana, no seu habitual local de férias de Verão com a família. Mas, essa semana, é a primeira vez que ela está de volta à sua casa de Verão após a morte da sua irmã. Eu sei que isto soa bastante pesado, mas, confiem em mim, não é. Apesar de tocar no tema da perda, o livro é, sobretudo, sobre o rapaz que ela conhece durante essa semana, o casamento da prima que também decorrerrá durante esses dias e um jogo (muito divertido por sinal) que a sua família joga sempre durante as férias. Eu adorei a química que as personagens tinham. E não só do rapaz, With, e da Meredith. Toda a dínamica da família e os seus amigos é muito divertida de ler. E o jogo. Para mim, foi a melhor parte. Quase que queria lá estar para jogar com eles. É uma leitura fácil, mas que entretém muito. E, se forem um/a Swiftie (que não é o meu caso) tenho a certeza que vão gostar ainda mais, pois o livro é inspirado em músicas da Taylor Swift e, tenho a certeza, que muitas referências não consegui perceber, só mesmo aquelas que eram super perceptiveis.
If you follow me on social media, you probably noticed that I'm doing a partnership with Wook. This post is not part of that partnership, but I had the chance to choose some books, and this is one of them. I'm talking about 'Th Summer of Broken Rules' by K.L. Walther. If you're on TikTok, I'm sure you've heard about this book, and I was very curious about it. And, after reading it, I can totally understand the hype. It's not a mindblowing story that it's going to change your life but, to me, it's the perfect Summer reading. It's light but, at the same time, has content. It's all I want to read while I'm laying in the sand, listening to the waves hitting the shore, while the sun warms my back. The book follows Meredith Fox through a week in her Summer house. But that week is the first time she's back with her parents after her sister dies. I know this sounds quite heavy, but it's not. The book is all about a boy she meets there, her cousin's wedding that it's taken place during that week, and a (very fun) game that her family always plays during their vacation. I personally loved the chemistry between the characters. Not only between the romantic interest, Wit, and Meredith. Actually, the dynamic between the whole family and friends is very fun to read. And the game. To me, it's the best part. I almost wished I was there playing with them. It's an easy and entertaining read. I had a wonderful time. And, if you are a Swiftie (which I'm not), you might love this book even more because it's inspired by Taylor Swift songs. I really didn't get the references (just the ones that are there in your face).
