Desculpem a quantidade de fotografias, mas estou muito apaixonada pelo resultado destas fotos. Passei a viagem toda a dizer que as fotografias que tirava não conseguiam transmitir a beleza da cidade, mas estas já conseguem chegar um pouco mais perto daquilo que os meus olhos viram. Até hoje, acho que Amesterdão foi a cidade mais bonita que já visitei. Todas as ruas são lindíssimas e confesso que olhar para estas fotografias já me traz alguma saudade. Que bom que foi viajar e conhecer uma cidade nova, após tantos meses sem o fazer. Foi realmente uma viagem fantástica. Espero que gostem das fotos.


I'm so sorry about the number of photos, but I'm really in love with the result of these photos. While I was there, I was always saying that the photos I was taking didn't show the beauty my eyes were seeing, but these photos get closer to that. I think Amsterdam was the most beautiful city I have visited up until today. All the streets are so beautiful, and I confess that looking at these photos makes me a bit nostalgic. It was so good to travel again and to visit a new city, after so many months without doing it. It really was an amazing trip. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Apesar de adorar o frio, não estava a contar com temperaturas tão baixas, por isso um casaco mais quente fez-me bastante falta, mas consegui fazer algumas camadas com as peças que levei comigo. Andámos imenso a pé, por isso era essencial que todos os outfits fossem super confortáveis e práticos.

Even though I love the cold, I wasn't expecting just low temperatures, so I really needed a warmer coat, but I managed to layer some of the pieces I brought with me. We walked a lot, so it was mandatory to wear very comfortable outfits.

 


Estou de volta de Amesterdão e com imensas coisas para partilhar com vocês. Vou começar com o Travel Guide que costumo fazer para cada cidade que visito com aquilo que mais gostei. Estive lá quatro dias e acho que foi o suficiente para conhecer a cidade. É uma cidade relativamente pequena, por isso não precisam de muitos dias para conseguirem conhecer tudo aquilo que querem. Por ser uma cidade pequena também, facilmente, conseguem chegar a vários pontos da cidade a pé, mas, se for necessário, também têm uma rede de transportes muito boa (ou então têm sempre a hipótese de ir de bicicleta). É uma cidade lindíssima e que vale a pena explorar. Eu adorei visitar Amesterdão e aqui têm então o meu Travel Guide.

I'm back from Amsterdam and with loads of things to share with you. I'll start with the Travel Guide that I usually do to which city I visit with all the things I enjoyed the most. I was there for four days, and I think it was enough to get to know the city. It's kind of a small city, so you don't need a lot of time to be able to visit everything you want to. And since it's a small city, you can also reach most of the things just walking, but if needed, they also have a good public transportation network (or you can always choose to ride a bike). It's a gorgeous city worth to visit and explore. I truly loved Amsterdam. So here you have my Amsterdam Travel Guide.

What To Do



  • Ride a Bike: Uma das coisas que mais gostei de fazer foi andar de bicicleta e facilmente conseguem encontrar um sítio onde as alugar. O trânsito de bicicletas em Amesterdão é bastante complicado, por isso, o que recomendo é que levem a vossa bicicleta para um parque que sempre é mais tranquilo. O VondelPark é uma excelente opção, pois também é muito bonito para visitar. // One of the things I enjoyed the most was to ride a bike, and you can easily find a place where to rent them. The bike transit in Amsterdam is wild, so what I recommend you to do is to take your bike to a park where it's quieter. VondelPark is a good option since it's also very beautiful to visit.
  • Visit A Museum: Amsterdão tem imensos museus, mas, infelizmente, são todos bastante caros. O que recomendo é que escolham um conforme aquilo que mais gostam e que depois aproveitem a cidade. Eu visitei o Moco Museum e, apesar de ter gostado, achei-o bastante pequeno para o preço que foi. // Amsterdam has loads of museums, but, unfortunately, they're all very expensive. What I recommend you to do is to choose one, and then enjoy the city. I went to the Moco Museum and, even though I liked it, I found it very small for the price I paid.
  • Go To NSDM: Se tiverem um tempo extra e quiserem conhecer uma zona completamente diferente do centro da cidade, podem sempre ir a NSDM. Na Central Station podem apanhar um ferry grátis e lá encontram vários sítios giros para visitar. // If you have a bit of free time and want to visit a completely different area from the city centre, you can go to NSDM. On Central Station, you can catch a free ferry, and there you have several different places to visit.
  • Visit Anne Frank's House: É já uma atração um pouco turística, mas é algo a não perder em Amesterdão. Visitir a casa onde o famoso diário foi escrito é uma experiência difícil de explicar, mas algo que têm mesmo de fazer. Para o fazerem têm sempre de comprar o bilhete online e aconselho que marquem com bastante atecedência, pois é um local bem concorrido. // It's a bit touristy, but something not to miss. Visiting the house where the famous diary was written is an experience hard to explain, but something you have to do. To do it, you have to book your ticket online, and I recommend you to do it as soon as possible because there's always a lot of people visiting.
  • FlowerMarket: Em Amesterdão não vão encontrar as famosas tulipas em qualquer altura do ano, no entanto, no Bloemenmarkt podem encontrar algumas, bem como sementes das mesmas caso queiram comprar. // In Amsterdam you will not find the famous tulips at any time of the year, however, in the Bloemenmarkt you can find some, and also their seed if you want to buy them.

Where To Shop


  • We Are Labels: Esta loja encontram em vários bairros da cidade, mas é uma loja com uma seleção incrível de peças de roupa. Não é super acessível, mas se estiverem à procura de uma peça bonita e com qualidade, aqui encontram. // This store you will find at several different neighbourhoods of the city, and it's a store with an amazing selection of clothes. It's not super affordable, but if you're looking for a beautiful piece with good quality, here you will find it.
  • Magna Plaza: A antiga estação de correios é agora um centro comercial com diferentes lojas. Foi também aqui que encontramos o único photobooth em funcionamento na cidade, o que é sempre uma recordação que eu gosto de trazer de cada cidade. // The old mail station of the city is now a shopping mall with different stores. Here we found the only working photobooth, something I like to do in each city that I visit.
  • Bis!: Amesterdão tem imensas lojas vintage e em segunda-mão. Nós visitamos várias, mas a Bis! foi a que gostei mais. // Amsterdam has loads of vintage and second-hand stores. We went to a bunch of them, but Bis! was the one I enjoyed the most.
  • Mendo: Se são fãs de coffee table books e livros de design, esta livraria é para vocês. Os livros são lindíssimos. E, se não quiserem comprar, podem sempre ficar num dos sofás a folheá-los por algum tempo. // If you're a fan of coffee table and design books, you have to visit this library. The books are so beautiful. And if you don't want to buy them, you can just grab one and sit in one of their couches for a little while.
  • IJ-Hallen Market: Se forem à zona NSDM, podem encontrar o maior flea market da Europa. Aqui podem encontrar de tudo. No entanto, a entrada é paga e têm de ver no website em que dias se vai realizar. // If you go to the NSDM area, you can find the biggest flea market in Europe. Here you can find everything. However, you have to pay entrance, and you have to check the website to know when it's going to happen.
Where To Eat



  • Back To Black: Este é um café bem pequeno, mas isso só o torna ainda mais acolhedor. Perfeito para um café ao fim da tarde. Para acompanhar peçam o banana bread que é delicioso. // This is a very small cafe, but that just makes it even cosier. Perfect for a coffee at the end of the afternoon. Together with the coffee, you have to order the banana bread, it's delicious.
  • Bagels & Beans: Este restaurante encontram em diferentes bairros pela cidade. Os bagels são realmente muito bons e é bastante acessível. // This restaurant you can find around different neighbourhoods. The bagels are really good, and it's very affordable.
  • Sous Bistro Bar: Este restaurante é perfeito para um jantar, mas tem um conceito diferente. Os pratos são pequenos, por isso o recomendável é pedir dois por cada pessoa e talvez até partilhar. Por esta razão, fica um pouco mais caro, mas a comida é maravilhosa. A lasanha é mesmo muito boa. É também um excelente sítio para beber apenas um copo. // This restaurant is perfect to have dinner, but it has a different concept. The dishes are very small, so I recommend you to order two for each person and maybe even share them. For this reason, it's a bit more expensive, but the food is very good. The lasagna is delicious. It's also a good place just for some drinks.
  • Vegan Junk Food: O nome indica o que vão encontrar neste restaurante, junk food (portanto, muito hambúrgueres), mas vegetariano. Não sou vegetariana, mas adorei a comida. // The name of this restaurant says it all. Junk food (so, loads of burgers), but vegetarian. I'm not vegetarian, but I loved the food.
  • Betty Blue: O Betty Blue é perfeito para um brunch ou almoço. O menu tem imensos tipos de comida. Eu comi um hambúrguer e adorei. Têm também de provar a limonada da casa, é deliciosa. // Betty Blue is perfect to have a brunch or lunch. The menu has lots of different kinds of food. I had a burger and loved it. You also have to try the homemade lemonade, it's really good.
  • Pleek: Na zona NSDM têm o Pleek, onde podem fazer qualquer tipo de refeição. Eu tomei o pequeno-almoço e adorei. O ambiente é fantástico e, se estiver bom tempo, podem aproveitar a área exterior onde têm uma parte com areia, quase a lembrar um bar de pria. // On the NSDM area, you can find Pleek where you can have any meal. I went there to have breakfast, and I loved it. The environment is amazing, and if it's good weather you can enjoy the outside area where there is sand almost like a beach bar.

Não é nenhuma novidade, porque vos contei quando aconteceu, mas mudei de casa há uns tempos. É a primeira vez que estou a viver sozinha e a primeira vez que sou completamente independente, e, passados 4 meses, já posso dizer que aprendi alguma coisa. Não é imenso tempo, mas é o suficiente para saber o que gosto, o que não gosto e o que aprendi. Portanto, aqui estão 5 coisas que aprendi após me mudar pela primeira vez. Não são lições de vida, mas pequenas coisas que tenho a certeza que se vão relacionar.


This is not big news, I told you when it happened, but I moved out. This is my first time living alone, my first time being totally independent, and after 4 months I can say that I've learned a lot. It's not a long time, but it's long enough to say what I like, what I dislike, and what I've learned. So here are 5 things I've learned after moving out for the first time. Not life-changing stuff, but small things that I'm sure you can relate to, let me know!


1. Não vais passar a ferro roupa de cama. Sim, fica mais bonito se estiver tudo passado a ferro, mas não te vais dar ao trabalho de o fazer. // You won't iron bedding. Yes, it looks better if it's ironed, but you won't bother to do it.


2. Cozinhar é uma seca e a pior parte é que o tens de fazer todos os dias. // Cooking is so boring and the worst thing is that you have to do it every single day.


3. Ir às compras ao supermercado é das melhores coisas porque podes comprar aquilo que bem te apetecer. Já não tens alguém a dizer-te o que podes ou não trazer. // Grocery shopping is the best since you can buy whatever you want. You no longer have someone telling you what you can or cannot have.


4. Lembras-te quando a tua mãe insistia-a em aspirar a casa sempre que alguém fosse lá a casa? Vais-te tornar essa pessoa. Mesmo que consigas viver numa casa um pouco mais suja, não queres que outras pessoas o saibam, sejam quem elas forem. // Remember when your mom insisted to hoover before a guest came in? You will be this person. Even though you can live in a very dirty house, you don't want other people to know that, no matter who they are.


5. Máquinas de lavar loiça são a melhor invenção dos nossos tempos (taco a taco com a Uber Eats, claro). // Dishwashers are the best invention of our time (together with Uber Eats obviously).

 


Tendências. Quer as sigam, quer não, elas existem. Eu sou da opinião que mesmo que por vezes seja inconscientemente, todos nós as acabamos por seguir um pouco. E apesar de me fascinar como funcionam as tendências no mundo da moda, hoje venho-vos falar das tendências no Instagram. Tenho a certeza que já por diversas vezes se depararam com o mesmo tipo de fotografia em contas de Instagram diferentes. Isto porque também existem tipos de fotografias que se tornam populares e toda a gente as quer recriar. Acho que até acaba por se engraçado. E não achem que com este post estou a criticar, porque eu mesma já acabei por seguir estas tendências. Digam-me se vocês também já o fizeram.

Trends. Either you follow them, or you don't, they exist. In my opinion, we all end up following them a bit, even if unconsciously. And even though it fascinates me how trends work in the fashion industry, today I'm talking about Instagram trends. I'm sure you already came through the same kind of photo in different Instagram accounts. This happens because even on Instagram there are some kind of photos that become popular, and everyone wants to recreate them. I find it kind of funny. Don't think I'm criticizing this with this blog post, I really am not, some of these trends I follow myself. Tell me, have you recreate any of these photos talking about?




The Clothesline

Quem não gosta de uma boa foto de roupa num estendal? Eu sou fã assumida deste tipo de fotografia. Quer seja apenas da roupa no estendal (o bikini é neste momento o mais popular) ou eu mesma a estender a roupa no estendal (neste caso a fingir que estendo a roupa no estendal, porque ,na verdade, tudo o que nós "influencers" fazemos é encenado).

Who doesn't like a good photo by a clothesline? I'm the biggest fan. Either it's a photo of just the clothes ( a bikini is the most popular right now), or just me hanging the clothes (or in this case, pretending I'm hanging the clothes because in reality we "influencers" always pretending what we are doing).




Drinking-Water

Tenho a certeza que também já se depararamm com a fotografia a beber água. Estão a ver o cenário? A beber de uma garrafa reutilizável (porque nós influencers somos muito amigas do ambiente), na praia e a mostrar o bikini. Quem nunca?

I'm sure you have seen the drinking water photo. Can you picture it? Drinking from a reusable bottle (because we influencers are very environmentally friendly), on the beach and showcasing the bikini. 

The Mirror Selfie

Os dias de glória da selfie já passaram, se pensarem bem já não é cool publicar um selfie (na minha modesta opinião, nunca o foi, mas também é preciso dominar a arte de tirar uma selfie, algo que eu nunca soube fazer). Agora a única forma é tirar uma selfie num espelho. Se for um espelho com ar vintage, ainda melhor.

The glory days of selfies are far gone. If you think about it, it's not that cool to post a selfie anymore (in my humble opinion, it never was, but it was always an art I couldn't dominate). Now the only way to take a selfie is if there's a mirror involved. If it's a vintage mirror, even better.

A saga dos livros do Saramago continua. Já estabeleci o objetivo de ler todos os seus livros e desta vez li o 'Caim'. Depois do 'Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis', deve ter sido o meu favorito. Isto porque neste livro o Saramago leva o seu sarcasmo ao extremo. É um livro que vos vai fazer rir (isto se não forem católicos, caso contrário é provável que achem este livro um quanto provocador e ofensivo). Em 'Caim', o escritor reconta episódios bíblicos do Antigo Testamento (o qual o autor intitulou de Livro dos Disparates) sob o ponto de vista de Caim, um dos filhos de Adão e Eva. No entanto, estes episódios são contados de uma perspectiva completamente diferente e, como podem imaginar, é aqui que entra o sarcasmo e humor de Saramago em ação. Acho que o que me fez gostar tanto deste livro foi rever-me em muitas das opiniões do autor. Não que ele dê opiniões neste livro, mas dá para perceber a sua opinião face à religião. É um livro que nos faz rir e pensar, o que há para não gostar, certo? Foi o último dos seus livros que o autor viu a ser publicado e dá para perceber que o autor se sentia cada vez mais livre. Recomendo imenso.


Yeap, I'm still reading books written by Saramago. I already set the goal to read all of his books, and this time I read 'Cain'. After 'The Year of Death of Ricardo Reis', I think this was my favourite. I loved it because on this book Saramago really takes his sarcasm to the extreme, and it's a book that makes you laugh (if you're not catholic, otherwise you might find it a bit provocative and offensive). In 'Cain', the writer retells some biblical stories from the Old Testament (which the author called as the Book of Nonsense) through Cain's perspective, one of Adam and Eve's sons. However, these episodes are told through a completely different perspective, and here is where Saramago's sarcasm and humour shine. I think what made me love this book so much was agreeing with so many of the writers' opinions. He doesn't give his opinions clearly, but you can understand what he thinks about this religion. It's a book that makes you laugh and think, and what's not to love about that? It was the last book that he saw being published and you can tell that he was way freer. I highly recommend it.

Que Verão! Por tudo isto que estamos a passar, pensei que este seria o pior de Verão de sempre, mas sabem que mais? Estava completamente errada. Este acabou por ser um dos melhores Verões de sempre. Passei imenso tempo no campo e realmente aprendi a apreciar a Natureza. Quando era miúda detestava ir para o campo, agora sinto uma paz imensa quando lá estou. Fui também imensas vezes à praia, acho que nunca tinha ido tantas vezes à praia como fui este Verão. Como vos disse num post há uns tempos, não há nada melhor que dar um mergulho no mar após um dia de trabalho. Já para não falar dos pores-do-sol que vi enquanto lá estava. Sentada na areia com uma cerveja a ver o Sol a descer. Fui várias vezes ao parque da cidade e adorei o tempo que lá passei, quer fosse sossegada a ler um livro ou num piquenique com amigos. Tirei uma semana de férias e visitei sítios onde nunca tinha estado no nosso país. Nem sei quando foi a última vez que tirei este tipo de férias, same? Sem fazer nada e a passar os dias na praia. Fiquei apaixonada pelas praias do nosso país, realmente temos sítios lindos. Não sei como será a vida daqui para a frente, mas já tenho algo a tirar disto tudo. Agora sei apreciar as pequenas coisas da vida. O Outono está a chegar, é a minha estação do ano favorita e estou muito entusiasmada com o que aí vem. Espero que se estejam a sentir da mesma forma. What a summer! Because of everything we're going through, I really thought this would be the worst summer ever, but guess what? I was completely wrong. It actually turned out to be one of the greatest summers ever. I've spent a lot of time in the countryside and really started to appreciate Nature. When I was a kid, I hated going to the countryside, but now I find so much peace when I'm in there. I went to the beach more often than ever before. As I've told you on a blog post before, swimming in the ocean after a day at work is one of the best feelings ever. Not to mention all the beautiful sunsets I got to see while I was at the beach. Laying in the sand with a beer and just watching the sun go down. Also went a lot to a huge park here in the city, and really enjoyed laying in the grass with a book, or doing a picnic with my closest friends. I took one week off and visit some new places around my country. I can't remember the last time I took a week off for a proper summer vacation. You know what I mean? Just doing nothing and going to the beach. I was amazed by the beautiful beaches we have here in Portugal. I don't know how life is going to be from now on, but I can take one thing from all of this. Now I really know how to appreciate the little things in life. Autumn is approaching which is my favourite season, and I really feel like good things are coming. Já há uns tempos que não vos trazia um post para o 'Get To Know The Brand', mas, como já vos disse, a minha grande amiga Marta lançou a sua própria loja de roupa em segunda-mão online e fez todo o sentido regressar com este post. Desde que conheço a Marta que ela frequenta lojas vintage e em segunda-mão, na verdade, foi ela que me mostrou as melhores lojas vintage pelo Porto, mas agora, a melhor, é mesmo online. Chama-se Tarda Boutique e podem ficar a saber um pouco mais sobre este projeto neste post. Espero que gostem.

It has been a while since I last wrote a blog post for 'Get To Know The Brand', but as I've told you before, my good friend Marta launched her own second-hand online store, and it made perfect sense to bring this post back to the blog. Since I know Marta that she goes to vintage and second-hand stores, actually she was the one that showed me the best vintage stores around Porto, but now, the best store is online. It's called Tarda Boutique and you can know more about this project down below. I hope you like it.



Como surgiu a ideia de criar a Tarda? // Where did it come from the idea to create Tarda?

A Tarda não foi algo do momento. Desde os meus 13 anos que compro em lojas de segunda-mão e aos 14 criei o Keep Calm And Shop Vintage, o meu blog de moda. Desde aí que ficou o bichinho das lojas vintages e desde então que era um sonho meu, eu poder ter a minha própria loja. Eu estava a trabalhar em hotelaria e no setor de turismo há quase 3 anos e já não me estava a sentir motivada, não sentia que era uma mais-valia para aquela empresa e então decidi que queria fazer algo que gosto. E assim surgiu a Tarda.


Tarda is not something from the moment. Since I was 13 that I started buying at second-hand stores, and at 14 I created Keep Calm And Shop Vintage, my fashion blog. Since then that I started loving vintage stores, and it became a dream to be able to have my own store one day. I was working in the tourism sector for 3 years, and I wasn't feeling motived, so I decided to do something I genuinely like. And so Tarda was created.



Porquê o nome Tarda? // How did you choose the name Tarda?

O nome surgiu de forma muito espontânea e parece um trocadilho, mas Tarda em tradução livre em inglês significa slow e slow fashion é algo que está cada vez mais presente nas nossas vidas. Andava à procura de palavra que se identificam-se comigo e que fizessem sentido para o nome da marca e Tarda ficou logo no ouvido, portanto estranha-se, mas depois entranha-se. Muita gente pensa que o nome tem a ver com o meu nome, mas não tem. Tarda significa slow em inglês e a palavra vem do latim.

The name came in a very spontaneous, but Tarda means slow and slow fashion is something very present in our lives right now. I was looking for a word that made sense to me and to the brand, and Tarda sounded really good. A lot of people think it comes from my name, but it doesn't. Tarda comes from Latin, and it means slow.

Como achas que tem mudado a atitude das pessoas face à compra de roupa vintage? // How do you think people changed their attitude towards buying vintage clothing?

Infelizmente, ainda acho que roupas em segunda-mão e lojas vintage são um bocadinho um tabu. Eu própria tenho pessoas chegadas que não gostam desse tipo de lojas, porque acham que cheiram mal ou que não vão encontrar nada que gostem, mas o truque é procurar muito bem e tirar isso da cabeça. Ir de mente aberta a esse tipo de lojas e experimentar. Muitas coisas que não parecem nada de especial no cabide, acabam por ficar super bem no corpo, portanto é uma questão de experimentar.

Unfortunately, I think that second-hand clothing and vintage stores are still taboo. I have very close people that don't like that kind of stores because they think they stink or that they will not find something they're going to like, but the trick is to take that off our minds. Go with an open mind and try different things. Something that doesn't look great hanging on a hanger can look amazing on the body, you just have to try it out.




Onde vês a Tarda daqui a 5 anos? // Where do you see Tarda in 5 years?

Neste momento, eu demiti-me do meu trabalho em hotelaria para me dedicar à Tarda a 100%, por isso espero que a Tarda daqui 5 anos seja um nome que as pessoas conheçam quando se trata de roupa de segunda-mão e vintage. Quero também que passe do online para o físico. Obviamente, agora as pessoas ligam mais ao online, mas isso depende de cada um. Eu continuo a adorar ir a lojas físicas e, portanto, daqui a 5 anos eu via a loja sendo uma loja física, na baixa do Porto, um espaço pequenino meu. Uma boutique (dái Tarda Boutique) e que ouvisse que pessoas na rua a dizer "olha, vamos até à Tarda", acho que esse é o meu grande objetivo.

Right now, I quitted my job to dedicate myself to Tarda at 100%. So I hope that in 5 years Tarda is a name that people know for second-hand clothes and vintage. And that makes the transition from the online to the streets. Obviously, right now people care a lot about online, but it depends on each one of us. I still love to go into stores, so in 5 years I see Tarda as a store in Porto, a little space that I can call my own. A boutique (that's why it's Tarda Boutique) and I would love to hear one day people saying "look, let's go to Tarda". That's my goal.

Mais uma semana que está a chegar ao fim e mais uma quantidade de coisas que quero partilhar com vocês. Esta semana, além do habitual podcast, tenho também um filme para vos recomendar, entre outras coisas. Mas como já sabem, basta continuar a ler para descobrir tudo o que me chamou a atenção esta semana.


Another week coming to an end, and a bunch of things I've liked that I want to share with you. This week, besides the usual podcast, I also have a movie recommendation for you, among other things. But as you already know, just keep scrolling so you can find everything that caught my attention this week.


Movie: Snu


Este é um filme português de 2019, mas só agora o vi e adorei. Primeiro, adorei a história. Não conhecia a história da Snu, mas achei mesmo muito inspiradora. Apesar de se focar muito no seu romance com Francisco Sá Carneiro, mostra-nos o quão forte ela era. Segundo, o filme tem uma imagem incrível. Daqueles cenários lindos que nos faz sonhar. Terceiro, o soundtack é igualmente incrível. Eu consegui ver o filme online através da minha operadora, mas, se não estiver disponível para vocês, a RTP vai passar o filme na próxima segunda-feira.


This is a Portuguese movie from 2019, but I only watched it recently, and I loved it. Firstly, I loved the story. I didn't know much about Snu, and I found her very inspiring. Even though the movie focuses a lot on her love story with Francisco Sá Carneiro, it also shows the viewer how strong she was. Secondly, the movie has a beautiful image. It's full of backgrounds that make you droll. Thirdly, the soundtrack is equally amazing. I found the movie online, and I'm pretty sure you can find it with subtitles.



Podcast: Bunga Bunga


Já por diversas vezes vos disse que sou bastante fã da comediante Whitney Cummings. Além do seu podcast Good For You (do qual eu sou ouvinte), lançou há poucos dias um novo podcast bastante diferente do primeiro. Chama-se Bunga Bunga e leva-nos através da vida de Silvio Berlusconi. Como passou de homem de negócios, a primeiro-ministro sem qualquer experiência política, expondo todos os escândalos em que esteve envolvido. Bunga Bunga tem 8 episódios, todas as semanas sai um novo e ainda não chegou ao fim. Nunca tinha ouvido nenhum podcast deste género, quase que parece um documentário, mas estou a adorar.


I've said several times before that I'm a huge fan of the comedian Whitney Cumming. Besides loving her podcast Good For You, she now launched a new podcast very different from the first one. It's called Bunga Bunga, and it takes us through the life of Silvio Berlusconi. How he went from a businessman, to prime-minister with no political experience, exposing all the scandals he was involved in. Bunga Bunga has 8 episodes, every week comes out a new one, and it hasn't finished yet. I've never listened to a podcast like this one, it almost feels like a documentary, but I'm really loving it.

Na verdade, a conta de Instagram da Catarina Mira não é algo que apenas tenha descoberto esta semana, mas, ultimamente, tenho-a achado especialmente inspiradora. Sempre adorei as fotografias que partilha e também sou muito fã do seu blog. Mas o que me chamou a atenção foi os Reels que tem criado. São tão simples e tão bonitos. São mesmo lufada de ar fresco no meio de todos os típicos vídeos do TikTok que tanto se partilha.


Actually, Catarina Mira's Instagram account is not something I only found this week, but, lately, I've been finding it very inspiring. I always loved her photography, and I'm also a huge fan of her blog. But what really caught my attention was the Reels she has been creating. They're so simple but so beautiful. They really are a breath of fresh air in the middle of all the usual TikTok videos that everyone shares.




 


Pode ser um pouco prematuro dizer isto, mas acho que finalmente encontrei o meu estilo. Como podem ver pelos últimos outfits que tenho publicado, todos eles têm algo em comum. São todos bastante minimalistas, com tons neutros e, por vezes, até um pouco andrógenos. É o caso deste outfit. Preto e muito simples. E, realmente, é assim que me tenho sentido bem. É assim que me sinto eu, se me faço entender. É bom saber aquilo que gosto e sentir-me bem a usar isso mesmo. Também não tenho feito grandes compras (tirando este top lindo que encontrei no flea market por apenas 0,5€) e tem sido muito bom para descobrir diferentes formas de usar aquilo que já tinha no armário. É também uma forma de ser mais criativa e, claro, o ambiente agradece. Se daqui a uns meses vou estar a escrever um post sobre como o meu estilo mudou completamente? Talvez. Mas também não há crise, mas, neste momento, é assim que me tenho sentido fiel a mim mesma, espero que gostem tanto quanto eu.


It might a bit too early to say this, but I think I finally figured out my personal style. As you can tell by the latest outfits I've been sharing, they all have something in common. They're all very minimalistic, in neutral tones, and, sometimes, even a bit androgynous. Like this outfit for example. Black and very simple. It really is how I've been feeling good. It's how I feel really myself if you know what I mean. And it's really good to know what I like, and only wear that. I also haven't been shopping a lot (okay, I bought this beautiful top at a flea market for only 0,5€), and it has been good to find new ways how to wear what I already had in my closet. It's also a way to be more creative, and, obviously, it's so much better for the environment. Am I going to write a post saying that my style changed drastically in a couple of months? Maybe! But there's nothing wrong with that, but right now this is how I feel good and feel like I'm truly myself, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Como vos disse da última vez que publiquei uma review a um livro do Haruki Murakami, não sabia muito bem dizer o que tinha achado do livro, mas sabia que queria ler mais livros deste autor e foi isso mesmo que fiz. Decidi então ler o 1Q84, o primeiro volume de uma trilogia com o mesmo nome. Se já leram algum livro do Murakami, a base da história é comum a todos os seus livros: duas personagens com histórias completamente diferentes, de um lado Aomame (uma mulher independente, professora de artes marciais, e do outro lado Tengo (professor de matemática) e, de alguma forma, o percurso destas personagens cruza-se. Como podem ver, muito ao estilo do escritor. Penso que já conseguem encontrar esta trilogia em apenas um livro, mas por ainda só ter lido o primeiro volume, este cruzamento das personagens, apesar de já estar implícito, ainda não aconteceu. Mas, sem dúvida, que quero ler os restantes livros. O escritor consegue sempre criar uma história com muito mistério e fantasia, algo que eu tenho vindo a gostar cada vez mais. Já algum de vocês leu esta trilogia? Adorava saber o que acharam.

As I've told you the last time I posted a review one of the Haruki Murakami's books, I didn't know how I felt about it, but I knew I wanted to read more of his work, so that's exactly what I did. I decided to read 1Q84, the first book of the trilogy with the same name. If you read Murakami before, the foundation of the story is pretty much the same: two characters very different from each other, on one side Aomame (an independent woman, martial arts teacher), and on the other side Tengo (a maths teacher), and, somehow, the path of these two characters crosses. As you can tell, very in line with Murakami's style. I think you can already find this trilogy in just one book, but since I've only read the first volume, you can sort of tell that these characters have something in common, but it's not revealed yet. But I definitely want to read the other two books. The writer really knows how to write a page-turning story with a brilliant mix of mystery and fantasy, something I'm really starting to enjoy. Have any of you read this trilogy? I would love to know what you thought about it.

Os blogs chegaram ao fim. Quantas vezes já ouviram isto antes? Eu já ouvi imensas, mas não estou nada de acordo. Desde 2011 que tenho este blog (nem acredito que é assim há tanto tempo) e vi o crescimento dos blogs e também o declínio dos mesmos. Mas não acho que os dias dos blogs tenham chegado ao fim. Claro que as pessoas cada vez mais procuram consumir conteúdo de uma forma mais rápida, mas também penso que, por vezes, sabe bem ir mais devagar e ver algo que foi criado com carinho e consideração. Eu adoro tirar um pouco do meu tempo livre e ver os meus blogs de moda favoritos. Sim, também gosto muito do Instagram, mas nem sempre é suficiente para mim. Eu gosto de ver as fotografias num ecrã grande, eu gosto de ler o texto que foi pensado para as acompanhar e gosto de ver o lado mais criativo da pessoa por detrás dessas fotografias e desse texto. Eu gosto mesmo muito de ler blogs. E essa é uma das razões pelas quais ainda tenho este blog. Gosto mesmo muito de criar conteúdo e nem sempre o Instagram ou qualquer outra rede social é suficiente para mim. Eu gosto de partilhar mais. Eu quero partilhar música, livros, fotografias, restaurantes, e gosto de o fazer à minha maneira. Eu quero ser o mais criativa possível e dar asas à minha imaginação. Para não mencionar o facto de que todas as fotografias que partilhamos nas redes sociais não são nossas, a partir do momento em que as partilhamos, elas pertencem à rede social em questão. Eu gosto de saber que tenho o meu próprio espaço, onde posso ser eu mesma e partilhar aquilo que bem me apetecer. Não estou a dizer que não gosto do Instagram, não é de todo o caso, também adoro partilhar fotografias lá. Mas também adoro este blog e enquanto me fizer feliz, estarei aqui a escrever-vos e a partilhar conteúdo. E se estão a ler isto, tenho a certeza que não acham que os blogs já não são relevantes. Tal como estão a ver o meu blog, tenho a certeza que veem muitos outros e faz-me feliz saber que ainda há pessoas que se importam. Obrigada!


Blogs are over! How many times have you heard this before? I have. A lot. But I don't agree with it. Since 2011 that I run this blog (crazy, I know) and I've seen the growth of fashion blogs, and then the decline, but I don't think blogs are over. Yes, people more and more are addicted to quick information, but sometimes feels good to slow down and see something put together with thought and consideration. I love to take some of my off time to read some of my favourite fashion blogs. Yes, I love Instagram, but it's not always enough for me. I like to see photos in a full screen, I like to read the text that accompanies those images, and I like to see the creative side of the person behind the blog. I truly love reading blogs. And that's one of the reasons why I still run this blog. I really love creating content, and I don't feel like Instagram or any other social media app is enough for me. I like to share more. I like to share music, books, photos, restaurants, and I want to do it my way. I love to be creative, and let my imagination fly. Not to mention that everything you post on social media apps is not owned by you, those photos/videos belong to the app. I like to know I have my own little space, where I can be myself, and share what I really like. I'm not saying I don't like Instagram, it's totally not the case, I love sharing photos over there, but I also love this blog, and for as long as it makes me happy, I will be here writing and creating content for you. And if you're reading this, I'm sure you don't think blogs are over. I'm sure you read other blogs as well, and it makes me happy to know that some people still care. Thank you.
