We're a day apart from the last month of the year so today I have for you my suggestions for December. From a book for you to read to a place to visit, this post got you covered. Do you also have suggestions? Let me know on the comments!

What To Read

It's not new that I'm a big fan of Patti Smith. As you know 'Just Kids' is my favourite book, but this month I decided to recommend you another book by her: 'M Train'. It's very different from the first book that I mentioned but equally amazing. The book starts at a small café where the artist goes every morning for a coffee and it's from a later point in her life.

Where To Eat

To eat this month I recommend you a place here in Porto where you can find several different places where to eat. I'm talking about Lumiére galleries, right in the city centre and where you can find different restaurants for a great meal. Usually, I always go to Piquenique, a vegetarian restaurant, but there are several different options.

What To See

December is the month of Christmas so my suggestion this month has to be Winter Wonderland in Lisbon. If you want to get into the Christmas spirit you have to go there. It's for free, it's at Eduardo VII park and the schedule depends from day to day.

Cor.

Colour. For many years I was afraid of it. I avoided it like that colleague from school you see on the street that you know, but you don’t want to say hi to. I feared it like a big spider you find in your house and you don’t have the courage to kill because of its huge size (this is actually a true story). But here I am: using an outfit with more colour than ever. Of course, these are very autumnal colours, but some years ago I would never imagine to pair them together. Maybe I would wear the trousers with a very basic shirt. And the brick orange sweater with some jeans (actually I already did, you can see it HERE). What has changed? Maybe my desire to get more risky with my style and a big desire to get out of my comfort zone more often. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing the last couple of months and I feel this is the time that my style has changed the most. I find myself wearing skirts more often then ever, I wear colours that I never imagined myself wearing and I’ve been riskier even with the shoes that I pick. It feels good. Feels good to play with fashion and to break some rules that were made to be broken. So next time you’re getting dressed and you choose a colourful piece of clothing, choose another piece with some bold colour instead of going with the typical black and white. Don’t be afraid of colour and try it, because practice makes perfect!

November is almost coming to an end so here is my monthly playlist post. Most of the songs are quite old, but a new one that I'm really obsessed about is Love Has All Been Done Before by Jade Bird. You know how much of a fan I am (you can read the interview I did to her HERE) and this music really is something. I also bought Kasabian's first album, a band that I really love, and although the songs are quite old I only found about them right now so I have been listening to that album a lot too. But tell me about you, what have you been listening to this month?

Isso irritava-me imenso! Talvez esteja mesmo na highway to hell por a estar a usar, but I'm going to wear it anyway!

Some years ago it really annoyed me seeing people wearing sweaters of bands they didn't know. I even remember watching a video where they were asking people who were wearing a Ramones T-shirt if they knew two songs of the band and most of them didn't know and didn't even know Ramones were a band, they thought it was some kind of brand. It really annoyed me! But some years went by and here I am wearing an AC/DC sweater. If you ask me for a few songs, I can tell you, but I'm not the biggest fan at all. For a while now that band tees are not only reserved to the fans and have become an esthetic thing. At any fast fashion store, you can find T-shirts or sweaters of Nirvana, Guns&Roses or The Rolling Stones. Last year band tees were even a fashion trend. So yeah, I have mixed feelings, but I really like the sweater and it really is my style. Maybe I'm really on the highway to hell for wearing it, but I'm going to wear it anyway!

I think we can all agree that jumpers are essential during this time of the year. It's already cold outside and there's nothing like a good jumper to protect us from it and to feel really cosy. As you already know, I'm more aware and concern with the quality of fabrics so today I'm sharing with you three jumpers you need in your closet and where you can find one with good quality and good fabric. Yes, they're probably going to be a bit more expensive than usual, but they will last you a lifetime.

The Turtleneck

If you're like me and you're not the biggest fan of wearing a scarf, the turtleneck is the best solution. They're warm, protect you from the cold and they're perfect to layer. I have at least one of each neutral colour.

Where To Buy: Mango | H&M | Lacoste

The Cashmere

We all know that cashmere is a very expensive fabric, but I think we should all have at least one jumper in this fabric. Nowadays you can find some with a great quality and a good price. And if you take good care of it, I can assure you you will have a jumper for many many years.

Where To Buy: Uniqlo | Benetton | Marks & Spencer

The Chunky Knit

This is probably my favourite. The chunky and oversized jumper that almost feels like you're carrying a blanket around town. The only issue with this kind of jumpers is that it's way harder to find a jacket that fits over it.

Where To Buy: H&M | COS | &OtherStories

As I suspected this isn't going to be a weekly post. Honestly, I don't like to push any kind of post so I'm only going to do it when I actually have something to share with you. And I would like you to do the same because it's a very interesting exercise to do, think about your week and analyse what was good and bad. Appreciate the small things and think about a way to turn the bad things into good things.

The Good

As I told you, sometimes are the small things that make me really happy. I shared with you that I did a new piercing (you can read more HERE) and I'm super glad I did. Besides loving it, it was also a way to understand that sometimes we can't think so much and simply do it.

The Bad

I started this week with zero inspiration. Usually, on the weekend I always managed to organize the whole week, but this time I couldn't. As a blogger having no inspiration is one of the worst feelings, especially if you create content on a daily basis (the rainy weather also doesn't help). But luckily that phase is gone and I might do a post with some tips to overcome times like these so you can expect loads of posts.

Digam-me, têm algum em comum comigo?

When I saw this dress in the store, I couldn't resist. I know I say this a lot, but sometimes you just fell in love with certain pieces. And when I tried it on I liked it even more, do you know why? Because it reminds me of Alexa Chung, a girl that does a lot of stuff, but it's mainly known by her amazing style. That's why today I'm going to talk you a bit about my style icons. People that you just have to look at some photos and you feel inspired right away. Tell me, are some of these people also icons to you?

Alexa Chung

As I already told you, Alexa Chung is one of my style icons. She's probably one of the reasons why I love leopard print so much. I remember seeing her with a pair of boots with this print and since then my leopard print collection has just been growing and growing. Now with her own label, there's nothing that I wouldn't love to add to my closet.

Jane Birkin

Forever an inspiration, I think we can all agree that Jane Birkin is a huge style icon. With a very simple style, very French, but at the same time very British. If you're also a fan of her style, follow the @janebirkindaily account on Instagram for daily inspiration.

Mick Jagger

And last but not least, for some edgy and rock&roll vibes that it's also very me, Mick Jagger never disappoints, especially if you look at his style back in the 60s and 70s. I really like a more masculine style and no one rocks suits like he does.

Lately, I've been really into astrology. Not in a fanatic way, but I find it a very interesting "science". After all, if the moon influences the sea, such a big and strong thing, why wouldn't influence us? I'm pretty sure you've all heard about Mercury Retrograde and let me inform you that until the 6th of December, we're going to be in one of those periods. You hear about this more and more so I did my research and here is what I found out about this topic. Summing up, three to four times a year the planet Mercury enters a retrograde movement that actually is an optical illusion to whom sees it from the Earth. But why does this supposedly have such an impact in our lives? In astrology, Mercury rules communication and technology and that's why these two aspects are the most affected during this time. And that's why this is a period that so many people fear, because there can be loads of problems in communication, the traffic gets even worst, contrasts can be broken and so on. But honestly in my opinion this is something that can happen at any time in the year, it really doesn't matter if Mercury is in a retrograde movement or not. But what do you think? Have you heard about this before?

Partilhem tudo comigo!

There were a lot of products created to add texture and volume to our hair, but if there's a product that never fails in this task is dry shampoo. Besides being a product that makes our hair look fresh and helps to control oiliness, it's also amazing to create some texture. I use this one from Tresemmé and the secret is to apply it on the scalp. And after applying the product, just massage your head to let the product spread along the hair, but also to create even more volume. It's an amazing way to add some texture to your hair, it always works with me. Do you also have a trick or any other product that you use? Share everything with me!

One of these days I was taking a look at the blog's archive and it was such a big difference in the amount of comments posts used to have. As I already commented with you, posts have less and less comments nowadays and it's something every blogger complains about, as I already mentioned some actually removed the comment sections out of their blogs. I'm not going to do that, but I can understand their decision. We are so used to consume everything so fast nowadays that we simply don't leave any comments and even I do that. Far away are the days when posts used to have from twenty to thirty comments. If before I used to comment every post I liked, now it's very rare to leave a few words. What changed? I have no idea. Maybe comments aren't relevant anymore, because even if you don't leave any comments we know you're still on that side. But this post made me remember the beginning of the blogs when we always left some nice words and as a reader as well I'm going to change that and start commenting on the posts I like again. And I challenged you to join me and do the same, what do you think?

Warning: reading this post may cause you a lot of hunger and make you want to go there right now. If you're following me on Instagram you know that last Saturday I had brunch at 7g Roaster and I liked it so much that I had to share it with you. I confess that I've never heard about this place before, because usually I always stay on Porto's side, but Gaia also has amazing places to discover and to try. The place is amazing and if it's a sunny day the outside area is an excellent option. So about the brunch. There are two different menus and we went for the brunch number two that it's 15,5€ (the other one is cheaper). You can't imagine how much food this menu brings, everything you like at a brunch I can guarantee you that it comes with this menu. I couldn't finish it at all, so if you don't eat that much you can totally share this menu with someone. Another amazing cafe around here!
