Não acredito que estamos em Abril e este é o primeiro livro de memórias que leio. Como sabem, é o meu tipo de livro favorito, mas ainda bem que peguei neste livro, 'O Filósofo e o Lobo' de Mark Rowlands. Como disse é um livro de memórias, por isso a história é completamente real e retrata a relação do escritor, que também é filósofo, com Brenin, um lobo que ele adquiriu ainda em cria. Claro que ter um lobo em casa não é fácil, por isso o lobo acaba por ir para todo o lado com ele, até mesmo para as suas aulas de filosofia. É um livro completamente diferente de todos os livros de memórias que já li. É escrito por um filósofo, logo além de toda a história com o lobo, esta convivência diária com o mesmo leva-o a conclusões sobre a maldade humana, a procura da felicidade e até mesmo o significado do que é ser humano. É um livro que nos estimula intelectualmente, que nos leva a pensar em certos assuntos e a chegar às nossas próprias conclusões. E apesar de ter bastante filosofia pelo meio é um livro muito fácil de entender, a escrita também ajuda. É bastante fluída e até com algum humor por vezes. É um livro mesmo muito bonito. Não o podia recomendar mais, gostei mesmo muito.
I can't believe we're in April and this is the first memoir I'm reading. As you know, it's my favourite kind of book, but I'm so glad I grabbed this book, 'The Philosopher and the Wolf' by Mark Rowlands. As I've said, it's a memoir and it charts the relationship between the writer, who's also a philosopher, and Brenin, a wolf he acquired as a cub. Obviously, being the owner of a wolf is not easy so he ends up taking the wolf everywhere with him, even to his philosophy classes. It's a book completely different from all the other memoirs I've read. It's written by a philosopher, so besides his story with the wolf, his daily life with him leads him to thoughts on human evil, the pursuit of happiness, and even what it means to be human. It's a book that stimulates us intellectually, that make us think about certain tops, and lets us take our own conclusions. Even though there's a bunch o philosophy in the book, it's really easy to read, the writting is beautiful, really easy to understand and sometimes with a bit of humour. I can't recommend this book enough, I truly loved it.
