Cada vez se fala mais de moda sustentável. Grandes marcas cada vez apostam mais em linhas amigas do ambiente e cada vez surgem mais marcas que apostam também nisso mesmo, é o caso da SIZ Brand. Uma marca portuguesa que já vos falei por aqui e que tem vindo a fazer o seu caminho nesse sentido, a última colecção é completamente sustentável e ecológica e, por isso, falei um bocadinho com elas sobre esse mesmo assunto. A minha grande pergunta é: a moda sustentável é ainda um luxo ou é o futuro da indústria da moda? Para a Raquel e para a Sofia, as criadoras da marca, é "um conceito que, embora esteja em grande ascensão, é ainda pouco difundido. A sustentabilidade é ainda vista como um luxo, é um nicho completamente esmagado pela produção em massa e o consumismo". E também na produção das suas peças elas têm o cuidado de o fazer cá em Portugal, é tudo desenhado no seu atelier em Sesimbra, a confecção é feita por elas e por colaboradores locais e é sempre uma produção consciente com peças limitadas. "Uma colecção feita de forma ética e sustentável, com materiais ecológicos, será sempre mais dispendiosa do que uma que recorra à mão-de-obra subvalorizada e tecidos comuns, o que desequilibra sempre um pouco a balança moral do cliente". É sempre bom unirmo-nos a marcas portuguesas que, ainda por cima, estão a fazer o melhor pela ambiente. Fiquem atentas que a SIZ ainda vai dar muito que falar!
We've been talking more and more about sustainable fashion. Big brands have been doing more collections eco-friendly and more brands have been focusing on that as well, it's the case of SIZ Brand. A portuguese brand that I've already talked about here and that has been doing their way in that direction, their latest collection is completely sustainable and ecological and so I talked about this with them. My biggest question is: is sustainable fashion still a luxury or is it the future of fashion? For Raquel and Sofia, the designers of the brand, "it's a concept that despite being in great ascent, it's still not very widespread. Sustainability is still seen as a luxury, it's a niche completely smashed by the mass production and consumerism". And also with their production they have the care to do it in Portugal, everything is designed at their atelier in Sesimbra, the confection is made by them and local collaborators and it's always a conscious production with limited pieces. "A collection made in a ethical and sustainable way with ecological fabrics will always be more expensive than one that uses undervalued labor work and regular fabrics, which always unbalaces the moral balance of the customer". It's always amazing when you join portuguese brands that are doing the best they can for the environment. Keep SIZ in mind, because they are going to do amazing stuff!
