Sustentabilidade e moda consciente são temas que eu gosto bastante de abordar por aqui e achei o tema perfeito para acompanhar este outfit, pois estas calças têm uma história engraçada. Já há imenso tempo que queria estas calças. São de uma marca que gosto muito, a Djerf Avenue, e desde que foram lançadas que estavam na minha wishlist. No entanto, por serem de uma marca mais ética com produção em Portugal e materiais reciclados, são, obviamente, uma peça mais cara. Procurei semelhantes em lojas de fast-fashion e cheguei mesmo a encontrar, mas cheguei a um ponto em que, além de procurar materiais de qualidade, também me sinto mal a apoiar esse tipo de marcas. Entrar numa loja de fast-fashion, por vezes, até me faz impressão. Olhar para todas aquelas peças de roupa e saber que dali a uma/duas semanas já vão estar lá outras peças completamente novas e saber que as coleções são criadas nesse ciclo vicioso é algo que, sem dúvida, não quero apoiar. Por isso, decidi esperar, juntar dinheiro e comprar as calças que realmente queria. E é assim mesmo que tenho criado o meu armário. Peças vintage/segunda-mão e peças de marcas sustentáveis e éticas. Não estou a dizer que nunca mais irei comprar fast-fashion, pois gosto de roupa e certas peças simplesmente apaixonamo-nos por elas, mas já há muito tempo que não o faço e tentarei continuar assim.
Sustainable and ethical fashion are both subjects I like to talk about, and I think it's the perfect subject to accompany this outfit since these trousers have a funny story. For the longest time that I wanted these trousers. They're by a brand that I really love, Djerf Avenue, and since they were launched, they were on my wishlist. However, they're from a brand that is ethical and made in Portugal so, obviously, they're expensive. I looked for similar ones on fast-fashion brands and I actually found them, but I reached a point where, first I want high-quality materials, and second, I feel bad supporting that kind of brands. Sometimes, even entering a fast-fashion store is weird to me. To see all the clothing and knowing that in the next week there are going to be completely different clothes in the same place, it's weird to me. I definitely don't want to support that. So I decided to wait, save some money and buy the trousers that I actually wanted. And this is how I want to create my wardrobe. Vintage/second-hand clothes, and pieces from ethical brands. I'm not saying that I'm not buying fast fashion ever again, I like clothes and sometimes certain pieces just speak to you, but I haven't done that in a long time and I will do my best to keep it that way.
