Hoje venho-vos falar de mais um livro, mas ao contrário das outras vezes, vou falar de um livro de que não gostei. Estou a falar do 'Bluets' da Maggie Nelson. Bluets fala sobre amor e perda, sempre através das lentes da cor azul. É um colecção de pequenos pensamentos e parágrafos breves e, para ser honesta, não acho que tenham muita conexão entre si, pareceram-me sempre bastante aleatórios. Senti que a autora se esforçou demasiado. Quase como se quisesse escrever coisas inteligentes, mas acabou apenas por soar bastante triste e depressiva. Mas, sem dúvida, que o livro tem frases muito bonitas e está muito bem escrito, quase de forma poética, mas, na minha opinião, não flui. Eu li-o até ao fim, até porque é um livro bastante pequeno e lê-se bastante rápido, mas não o recomendo. Tinha expectativas muito altas, por isso talvez por essa razão me senti assim, mas não me consegui conectar com este livro de forma alguma.
So, today is time to talk about another book, and against the other times, today I'm talking about a book I really didn't enjoy. I'm talking about Bluets by Maggie Nelson. Bluets examinates love and loss through the lens of the colour blue. It's a collection of shorts thoughts and briefs paragraphs, and, to be honest, I didn't think they had that much connection between them, they just felt very random. I felt as if the author was trying too hard. I felt like she was trying to write things that are smart, but she ends up sounding very sad and depressed. Sure, there are some beautiful quotes, and it's really well written, almost like a poem, but, in my opinion, the book didn't flow. I didn't drop it, it's a very short book so you can easily read it in just one day, but I don't really recommend it. I had really high expectations for this book, so maybe that's why I feel this way, but I just didn't connect with it at all.
