Hoje trago-vos mais um livro que li no ano passado, mas o 'Expectation' da Anna Hope foi um livro que adorei e, como tal, tinha de escrever um post sobre ele. O livro segue a vida de três raparigas: Hannah, Cate and Lissa. Costumavam ser grandes amigas, mas, passado dez anos, os seus caminhos separaram-se e as três sentem-se perdidas e desassociadas daquilo que eram e daquilo que queriam ser. É uma história que explora os altos e baixos da amizade. É sobre o peso das nossas expectativas versus a realidade da nssa vida. Sem dúvida que deviam ler este livro, mas não esperem grandes plot twists ou momentos inacreditáveis, o que para mim é algo bom. É, de certa forma, um livro real e com o qual se conseguem identificar. E, como mulher, vão ver partes de vocês em pelo menos uma das personagens. Também gostei muito da forma como o livro está escrito. Tem três narrativa diferentes, sendo que em cada uma delas podemos ver a prespectiva de cada uma das personagens. Um dos meus favoritos de 2019 e mal posso esperar por ler os outros trabalhados da Anna Hope.
Today I bring you another book I've read last year, but 'Expectation' by Anna Hope was a book that I really loved, so I had to write a post about it. The book follows the lives of three girls: Hannah, Cate and Lissa. They used to be good friends, but ten years went by, and they drifted apart, and the three seem lost and dissociated from who they were and who they wanted to become. It's a novel that explores the highs and lows of friendship. It's about the weight of expectation versus the harsh realities of life. You should definitely read it, but don't expect crazy twists or mind-blowing moments, which to me is not a bag thing. It's just so beautifully real and a very relatable story which, for me, makes it a very good book. And, as a woman, I'm sure you will see parts of yourself in at least one of the characters. I also loved Anna Hope's writing. The book is written in a three-way narrative, and in each one, you can see the perspective of each character. One of my favourites of 2019, and can't wait to read more books by Anna Hope.
