I still have a few books to write about that I read last year and today's post is about 'Skylight' by José Saramago. I read 'The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis', and, as I said at the time, I liked it so much that I really wanted to read more books by Saramago. They're two very different books, and while reading it you can totally tell that they were written in two different times of his life, but I really liked 'Skylight' as well. I found it a simpler book, but with very strong characters and where you can already tell the kind of writer José Saramago would become (even though 'Skyligh' was published after his death, it was written in 1953, way before 'The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis'). 'Skylight' follows 15 characters. They all live in the same building, in 6 different apartments, in Lisbon. They all live different lives, they all have different stories, but they all showcase the daily grind of the human condition. Another book by José Saramago that I really liked, and recommend everyone to read it. Which book by the author should I read next? Do you have any recommendation?
