'First of all, put on some funky pants, then find a shirt that apparently doesn't match' etc, etc. É uma trend no Tik Tok, tanto por pessoas a fazê-la, como por pessoas a criticá-la. De que lado é que eu estou? Sinceramente, de nenhum. Consigo perceber os dois. Por um lado, acho um estilo bonito. Interessante e divertido. Talvez um estilo bem mais Dinamarquês do que Português, mas é um simples conteúdo no Tik Tok, não há necessidade de o levar tão a sério, ao ponto de ficar ofendido com isto. Há sempre a possibilidade, como já vi e achei genial, de fazer a nossa própria versão desta trend. Mas também consigo perceber as pessoas que dizem que as portuguesas não se vestem assim. Eu não me visto assim. Nenhuma das minhas amigas se veste assim. E, no fundo, acaba por ser um tipo de rapariga muito específico que se veste assim *cough cough* "betas". E, por favor não levem isto a mal, não o digo no mau sentido. Cada um veste-se como quer, mas se esta "portuguese girl aesthetic" já me parece sempre mais do mesmo? Sim, parece. Se me inspira? Nem por isso. Mas, também tenho a certeza, que muitas pessoas não gostam do meu estilo. Cada um é livre de gostar (e de se vestir), como bem quiser, quer isso sejam as ditas 'funky pants' ou um par de calças de ganga (ou uma mini-saia no meu caso). Deixem a vossa Portuguese Girlie brilhar com qualquer um dos estilos.

And it became viral for people doing it, but also for people criticizing it. Which side I'm on? Honestly, none. I can understand both. On one hand, it's a very beautiful style. It's fun and interesting. Maybe a bit more Danish than Portuguese, but it's just some TikTok content, there's no need to take it so personally and be offended by it. There's always the possibility of doing your own version of the trend like I've seen it before and found it genial. But I can also understand the people who said that Portuguese girls don't dress like this. I don't dress like this. My friends don't dress like this. And, honestly, only a certain type of girl dresses like this *cough cough* "betas" (that, summing up, is a Portuguese word to refer to someone who comes from a wealthy family). And please don't take this the wrong way. We all dress like whatever we want, but is this 'Portuguese girl aesthetic' starting to feel like all the same? Yes, it has. Does inspire me? Not really. But I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who don't like my style either. And if there's only one person who finds that inspiring, then I think it's worth sharing. We are all free to like (and dress) whatever we want, that being the 'funky pants' or just a casual pair of jeans (or a mini skirt in my case). Let your inner Portuguese girlie shine either way.
