Como provavelmente viram, estive por Itália estes últimos dias. Foi a minha terceira vez no país, mas, desta vez, fiquei a gostar ainda mais. Normalmente, depois das minhas viagens faço um travel guide com várias dicas, mas, como visitei várias cidades, decidi fazer algo diferente. Pedi-vos para deixarem todas as vossas perguntas no meu Instagram e vou respondê-las neste post. Se por acaso tiverem qualquer outra pergunta, podem deixar nos comentários que eu respondo sempre.
So, as you probably saw, I was in Italy these last couple of days. It was my third time in the country and I really fell in love with it this time. I usually do a travel guide with a bunch of tips after my trips but since this time I visited a few different cities, I decided I was going to do something different. I asked you if you add any doubts on my Instagram and today I'll be answering them in this post. If any other question comes to your mind, just leave them in the comments and I'll reply asap.
What did you visit? / Que cidades visitas-te?
Como já disse, estive por várias cidades no Norte de Itália. No total estive lá 6 dias e passei por Milão, Como, Lenno, Verona e Veneza. Sem dúvida, que adicionaria mais um dia para puder explorar mais a zona do Lago Como. A ideia era ir a Bellagio e já não conseguimos lá passar. No entanto, super que recomendo ficarem em Lenno se estiverem a pensar ir até o Lago Como. Bellagio é super turístico, enquanto que Lenno é bem mais calmo e muito facilmente apanham transportes para as outras cidades.
As I said, I visited several different cities in the North of Italy. I was there for 6 days and visited Milan, Como, Lenno, Verona and Venice. I would definitely add another day to explore the Lake Como. We wanted to go to Bellagio and we just didn't have the time. However, I highly recommend staying in Lenno if you're visiting Lake Como. Bellagio is very touristy, while Lenno is quieter and you can easily reach the other cities by public transportation.
Did you rent a car? / Alugaste carro?
Não, tudo isto fiz de comboio. Claro que alugar carro tem as suas vantagens, mas super que recomendo fazer este percurso de comboio. Facilmente, conseguem chegar a várias cidades italianas.
No, all these trips we did by train. Of course, renting a car has its perks but I couldn't recommend enough the train. Very easily, you can travel to different Italian cities.
Best restaurants? / Melhores restaurantes?
Esta viagem, sem dúvida, que foi sobre comer e beber. No meu Instagram conseguem encontrar várias recomendações, mas vou deixar os meus favoritos de cada cidade. Em Milão adorei a Osteria da Fortunata. Em Lenno, o Ristorante Giglio, que era o restaurante do nosso hotel e que também recomendo imenso. Em Verona, a Trattoria Al Pompiere, onde comi uma das melhores pastas de sempre. E, em Veneza, a Trattoria Alla Madonna com comida típica da zona e peixe super fresco e também o Bacaro Risorto para algo mais leve e vinhos biológicos.
This trip was definitely all about eating and drinking. On my Instagram, you can already find lots of tips but here are my favourites from each city. In Milan, I loved Osteria da Fortunata. In Lenno, Ristorante Giglio, that was the restaurant of the hotel we stayed in which I also highly recommend. In Verona, Trattoria al Pompiere, where I ate one of the best pasta ever. And, in Venice, Trattoria Alla Madonna for typical food from the area and very fresh fish and Bacaro Risorto for something lighter and organic wines.
How's the cost of living compared to Portugal? / Como é o custo de vida comparado com Portugal?
Sendo que em Portugal, o custo de vida está extremamente alto, acho que Itália está bastante razoável. Claro que estive lá como turísta e não faço ideia como é realmente viver lá, mas, regra geral, achei tudo mais barato. As viagens de transportes públicos são bem mais baratas. Bares de cocktails e vinhos, também um preço muito mais baixo que cá. Supermercado achei um pouco mais caro. E, também ter em atenção que em Itália, na maior parte dos restaurantes, cobram o coperto: uma taxa que cobram por pessoa pelo uso de talheres, toalhas de mesa, guardanapos, pão, etc. Por isso, quer comam o pão (que normalmente já está na mesa) ou não, este valor será sempre cobrado (tip: comam sempre o pão).
Since the cost of living in Portugal is quite high right now, I would say Italy is quite reasonable. Please keep in mind, I was only there as a tourist, I don't really know how's the real cost of living is, but I found pretty much everything cheaper than in Portugal. The public transportation is definitely cheaper. In all the cocktail/wine bars I went to, I paid less than I pay here in Portugal. Supermarkets are more expensive. Also, keep in mind, that in Italy most restaurants charge you the coperto: an amount they charge per person for the use of cutlery, towels, napkins, bread etc. So, whether you eat the bread (that usually is already on the table) or not, they will charge you this amount (tip: always eat the bread).
Best city for travelling alone as a young girl? / Melhor cidade para visitar sozinha?
De todas as cidades que visitei, a única que me via a ir sozinha seria Milão, por isso é essa a minha resposta. Acho que é uma cidade que equilibra na perfeição o típico mood Italiano, mas que, ao mesmo tempo, consegue ser bastante jovem. Tem vários museus e restaurantes típicos, bem como bares mais modernos e zonas mais descontraídas. Gostei mesmo muito.
Of all the cities I visited, the only one I can see myself visiting alone is Milan, so that's my answer. I think it's a city that balances very well the typical Italian mood with a younger vibe. It has lots of museums and typical restaurants but also has modern bars and areas a bit more upbeat and relaxed. I really enjoyed it there.
Did you feel safe? / Sentites-te segura?
Sim, senti-me sempre muito segura. Não quer dizer que não tenham havido alguns contratempos (como, por exemplo, termos de sair do nosso comboio por causa de uma intervenção da polícia), mas nunca me senti insegura ou com medo.
Yes, I always felt very safe. It doesn't mean we didn't have some adventures (let me just say that at one point we had to leave our train because of a police intervention) but I never felt unsafe or afraid.
