Desculpem, eu sei que é a terceira semana seguida em que vos falo sobre um livro da Colleen Hoover, mas assim que começam e percebem o hype, não há volta a dar. Desta vez, estive a ler o Verity e deixem-me que vos diga, este livro é completamente insano, mas de uma boa forma. É completamente diferente dos outros dois que já vos falei. Ao contrário desses que eram romances, Verity é um thriller. Foi a primeira vez que li algo desse género e adorei. Conta a história de Lowen, uma escritora com algumas dificuldades que aceita o trabalho da sua vida: ser ghostwriter dos restantes livros de uma série super famosa cuja escritora original não está capacitada para o fazer. Mais uma vez, não quero dizer muito mais sobre a história em si, pois acredito que vos pode mesmo estragar toda a experiência de ler este livro. Vou-vos apenas dizer que é uma história sombria, as personagens estão longe de ser perfeitas e o plot está-vos sempre a apanhar desprevenidos. O que parece uma história simples no início, rapidamente se transforma e conseguem sentir a tensão a crescer ao longo da leitura. Nunca li mesmo nada assim. É uma história perturbadora de uma forma deliciosa. Gostei mesmo muito. Agora a questão é: que livro da Colleen devo ler a seguir?
I'm sorry, I know this is the third week in a row that I'm talking about a Colleen Hoover book but they really are f*cking good, I totally understand the hype now. This time I read Verity and let me tell you, this book is insane. It's completely different from the other two that I read before but in a good way. This one is a thriller, and it was the first time I read something like that. It tells the story of Lowen, a struggling writer when she accepts the job of a lifetime: ghostwriting the remaining books of a successful series whose writer is injured and cannot do it. Once again, I can't tell too much without giving away the story. Let's just say that the storyline is dark, the characters are flawed, and the plot is always catching you off your guard. What looks like a simple story in the beginning, quickly changes and you can feel the tension growing throughout the story. I have never read something like this, not even close. It's delicious in a completely twisted and disturbing way. I really really liked it. Now the question is: which Colleen book should I read next?
