My Guide to Sustainable Party Dressing This Season

Chegámos aquela altura do ano em que as lojas se enchem com coleções dedicadas às festividades e, com muita facilidade, somos convencidos de que precisamos daquele vestido cheio de brilho ou de um novo casaco para usar com as peças novas que comprámos. Mas sabem que mais? Não precisam! Com os acessórios certos, conseguem usar peças essenciais que já têm no armário. Mais sustentável que isto é impossível. Aqui estão três outfits que comprovam isso mesmo.

We're at that time of the year when stores are full of collections dedicated to party season and, so easily, they can convince us that we need to buy that sparkling dress or a new jacket to wear with our new clothes. But you know what? You don't! With the right accessories, you can wear essential pieces that you already have in your wardrobe. More sustainable than this is impossible. So here are three outfits that showcase that.

The Suit

Já me viram com este fato imensas vezes e tenho a certeza, que também vocês, têm um fato que costumam usar no dia-a-dia e que adoram. Eu uso o meu para diversas ocasiões, incluindo para festas. Nessa ocasião, gosto de usar sem nada por baixo, com uns brincos um pouco mais brilhantes e uns sapatos de salto alto.

You've seen me in this suit a million times before, and I'm pretty sure you also have a suit you usually wear in your daily life that you love and feel great in. I use this one for several different occasions, one of them being parties. For that, I like to use it with nothing underneath, some sparkling earrings, and some high-heels.

The Waistcoat and Skirt Combo

Os coletes são uma tendência um pouco mais recente, mas eu adoro ver. Também os uso imenso no dia-a-dia, mas são uma peça tão elegante que, facilmente, conseguimos transformar para uma saída mais formal. Mais uma vez, usei o meu sem nada por baixo, juntei uma saia midi (acho que é um comprimento que também se torna muito mais elegante) e uns sapatos de salto alto.

Waistcoats are a recent trend, but I love them. I love to wear them in daily life but I think they are such an elegant piece of clothing that you can easily take them from day to night. Once again, I like to wear it with nothing underneath and pair it with a midi skirt (I think it's a length that it's a bit more elegant) and some high heels.

The Little Black Dress

Acho que qualquer rapariga tem um vestido preto no armário. Eu tenho este que uso imensas vezes, especialmente no Verão, mas também o acho super giro para usar nesta altura do ano. Para o tornar um pouco mais apropriado para o Natal, juntei uns collants com padrão, umas knee-high boots e, claro, que um casaco também seria necessário para enfrentar o frio. 

I think any girl has a little black dress in their closet. I have this one that I wear a lot, especially during Summer, but I also found it very cute to wear during this time of the year. To make it a bit more season-appropriate, I paired it with some cute stockings and knee-high boots, and, of course, a coat would also be very necessary.
