Já se aperceberam que andamos todos obcecados com coisas antigas? A tendência Y2K está por todo o lado, toda a gente usa headphones novamente (apesar de existirem AirPods) e até os vinis voltaram em força. Não me interpretem mal. Eu adoro. Acho fantástico. Quando digo que não é assim tão cool ser "old school", estou a falar de outra coisa. Estou a falar daquelas pessoas que se recusam a juntar ao progresso. Sim, eu sou esse tipo de pessoa. Mas sempre em conflito comigo mesma. Deixem-me dar-vos um exemplo. Eu recuso-me a usar aquelas apps que funcionam como agendas, porque quero uma agenda física. E não posso dizer que é porque funciono melhor com uma agenda física, porque nunca experimentei a app. Nem uma única vez. Simplesmente estou habituada à agenda física e, sim, acho que é muito mais cool. Mas, por outro lado, quero-me manter relevante. Não quero estar a anos-luz daquilo que se está a passar e do que está a mudar no mundo. Não quero ser como os nossos avós com os telemóveis por exemplo. Eles não fazem ideia do que se passa. Enviar uma mensagem é um dos desafios mais difíceis da suas vidas. Ou os nossos pais que ainda acham que o Facebook é A app. Para nós, é uma loucura. Ambas as coisas. (Se fores da Gen Z, os teus avós provavelmente já sabem usar um telemóvel, por isso, neste caso, imagina um Millennial no TikTok, não fazem ideia do que fazer.) Deste ponto de vista já não parece tão cool, pois não? Eu sei que vou chegar a um ponto na minha vida que já não vou ter força para me manter a par de todas as coisas novas e vou ser, de facto, old school. Literalmente. Mas por enquanto, vou fazer o meu melhor para me manter relevante. Nunca se é demasiado velho para aprender algo novo. Motion, I'm coming for you.
Have you realised that we are all obsessed with old things right now? The Y2K trend is going super strong, we are all using headphones once again (even though AirPods are a thing now), and even vinyls are a huge thing right now. Don't get me wrong. I love it. I think it's great. When I say it's not that cool to be "old school", I'm talking about something else. I'm talking about people who say that just because they don't want to join progress. Yes. I'm people. I used to think that being "old school" was cool. Let me give you an example. I refuse to use those apps that work as calendars just because I want to use a physical agenda. And I can't say that I just work better with an agenda because I've never tried the app. Not even once. I'm just used to the agenda and yeah, I think it's way cooler. But on the other hand, I want to stay relevant. I don't want to be completely far away from what's going on. I mean, I don't want to be like our grandparents with cell phones. They just have no idea what's going on. Sending a message seems like the hardest task of their day. Or our parents who still think Facebook is a think. To us, that's crazy. Both things. (If you're a Gen Z, maybe your grandparents already know how to use a cellphone, so just imagine a Millennial on TikTok, some just have no idea what's going on.) See, now that you look this way is not that cool, right? I know that at some point in my life I'll stop having the strength to keep up with all the new things and I would actually be old school. Literally. But for now, I will do my best to keep up. You're never too old to learn something new. Motion, I'm coming for you.
