My Thoughts On 'First Person Singular'

Se me seguem há algum tempo, sabem que sou grande fã de Murakami, por isso, apesar de ainda ter muitos livros do escritor para ler, quando soube que iria lançar um novo, comprei-o imediatamente. 'Primeira Pessoa do Singular' é o nome do livro e trata-se de um conjunto de oitos histórias curtas que vão desde críticas de discos de jazz desconhecidos a macacos que trabalham como massagistas numas termas. Sendo muito sucinta, não gostei do livro. Como já Murakami nos habitou, são histórias bastante irrealistas e, para mim, este tipo de histórias que ele normalmente conta precisam do seu tempo. Precisam de se desenvolver e ir crescendo ao longo do livro, no entanto, como este livro é um conjunto de contos curtos, rapidamente passam para o absurdo e foi algo que realmente não me cativou muito. É um livro, que ao contrário dos outros, não nos faz perder no imaginário de Murakami, apenas estamos constantemente a pensar "que raio é que está a acontecer?". If you've been following me for a while, you know that I'm a huge fan of Murakami, so, even though I still have loads of books by him to read, when I found out that he launched a new book, I bought it immediately. 'First Person Singular' is the name of the book, and it's a collection of eight short stories that go from critics of unknown jazz albums to monkeys that work as masseuses on some boiling springs. To be straight to the point, I didn't like it. As Murakami always does, these are very unrealistic stories and, to me, these stories that he usually tells need their time. They need to develop and grow throughout the book, however, since these are short stories, they very quickly become absurd, and I really didn't like that. It's a book, that against all the others, didn't make me lost in the Murakami world, it just made me think "what the hell is going on" all the time.
