Last week, I told you I was thinking about writing this post, and here it is my review on my favourite 35mm films. I've been using a few different ones, and I already have an opinion on each one of them. Hoje em dia, este é o rolo mais barato da Kodak, mas é também o meu favorito. É bem fácil de encontrar e as cores ficam bem naturais e realistas. É o que mais uso e acho que tem uma excelente relação qualidade/preço.
This film is the cheapest offered by Kodak nowadays, but it's also my favourite. It's very easy to find, and the colours are very natural and realistic. It's the one that I used the most, and I think it has a really good quality/price relation.
Agora no Verão não o acho assim tão necessário, mas o Porto costuma ser uma cidade mais escura, por isso gosto de usar um rolo com um ISO mais alto para poder aumentar a velocidade nas fotografias que tiro. Este da Fujifilm é dos meus favoritos. Foi o que levei da última vez que fui a Londres e as cores ficaram impecáveis. É um pouco mais caro, mas um rolo com ISO 400 é sempre mais dispendioso.
Now during Summer I don't find it that necessary, but Porto is usually very gloomy, so I always go for a film with a higher ISO, so I can shoot with a higher speed. This one by Fujifilm is one of my favourites with a 400 ISO. I took it the last time I went to London, and the colours turned out great. It's more expensive, but if you're going to buy a film with 400 ISO, you're always going to spend more money.
3. Kodak Portra 400
Este é, realmente, um rolo muito famoso e que imensos profissionais usam. As cores ficam bem realistas, funciona muito bem em fotografias de interior e é o rolo que usei que menos grão criou nas fotografias. Eu gosto bastante dele, no entanto, é um rolo bastante caro e, comparando com outros mais baratos, não acho que a diferença seja assim tanta.
This one is a very famous film, and the one a lot of professionals use. I can see why. The colours are very realistic, works really well indoors, and it's the film that created the finest grain in my photos. I like it a lot, however, it's very expensive, and compared to cheaper ones, I don't find a very huge difference.
4. Kodak Gold 200
Este rolo acho que tem um tom muito específico e, por isso, apenas o uso em certas ocasiões. Tem um grão muito subtil e as fotografias ficam sempre com um ar muito vintage. Mas apenas resulta bem com muito boa luz. Para paisagens em dias de Sol é perfeito, mas para fotografias de interior não resulta assim tão bem. No entanto, outro ponto a favor é o seu preço, é também dos mais acessíveis da Kodak.
This film I feel like it has a very specific tone, and that's why I only use it for certain occasions. It has a very subtle grain, and the photos get a gorgeously vintage look. But it only works well with really great light. For landscapes in sunny days is perfect, but indoors doesn't turn out great. However, another great thing about it is its price, it's very affordable.
Decidi acrescentar este à lista, pois já o usei, mas não gostei nada do resultado. É um rolo que já não é produzido, o que significa que todos os rolos que comprem já expiraram o prazo. Por isso mesmo nunca se sabe o resultado que vamos obter, mas, a experiência que tive não foi muito boa. As cores não ficaram nada realistas e as fotografias ficaram com bastante grão.
I decided to add this one to the list because I used it before, but I really didn't like it. This film is no longer produced which means that every film you buy has expired. So you will never know what you'll get from it, but my experience was not good. The colours turned out weird, and the photos had a lot of grain.
