A pandemia global trouxe diversas consequências para a economia e, claro, a indústria da moda foi uma das afetadas, mas esta crise tem também alguns aspectos positivos. Pelo menos, parece-me que a indústria da moda, para a enfrentar, começou a mudar os seus piores hábitos. As fábricas voltaram a abrir, mas com menos funcionários por dia e com um horário mais reduzido, já para não falar das fashion weeks. Quatro coleções por ano (ou mais, se também contarmos as de homem) é simplesmente absurdo e já muitos designers, incluindo Anthony Vaccarello da Saint Laurent, decidiram abandonar as fashion weeks para terem mais liberdade criativa. A produção de roupa e, por sua vez, o consumo estava com um ritmo tão acelerado que já não era mais sustentável. Apesar de adorar ver os desfiles de moda, acho que muitos mais designers se deviam juntar a esta decisão. Até porque isto não significa que não vamos ver desfiles de moda, apenas significada que vamos ver menos. Foi preciso uma pandemia global para a indústria da moda começar a abrandar, mas parece que resultou e aqui está mais um aspecto positivo desta pandemia. Agora é só esperar que isto dure e não volte a ser o que era. Fingers crossed!
The global pandemic brought several consequences to the economy and the fashion industry was highly affected, but this crisis also has some positive aspects. At least, looks like the fashion industry, in order to face it, had to change its worst habits. Factories are opened again, but with fewer workers each day and with reduced hours, and, obviously, we have to talk about fashion weeks. Four collections (if you're not counting all the men's collections) each year is insane and some designers, like Anthony Vaccarello from Saint Laurent, decided to abandon the fashion week line-up so they can get more creative freedom. Production and consumption were in just a fast-paced that it wasn't sustainable anymore. I love watching fashion shows, but I think more designers should join this movement. Because this doesn't mean we're not seeing fashion shows anymore, it means that we're going to see less. It took a global pandemic for the fashion industry finally slow down but I think it worked and here is another positive view on this pandemic. Now I just hope this lasts and doesn't go back to what used to be. Fingers crossed!
