So here is the first book I've read this book and, as I said on my Instagram, I'm a bit conflicted about it. It's a massive book, around 900 pages to be more precise, and it's really hard to talk about it without spoiling it, but I will do my best. The story is told by Theo, a 13-year-old boy that survives a terrible accident at the Metropolitan Museum, unfortunately, his mother dies at the same accident. Between all the mess, the boy steals his mother's favourite painting, The Goldfinch. It's hard for me to write about this book because sometimes it's so detailed that can get a bit boring, but I never wanted to abandon it. However, around the middle of the book, the story jumps 10 years, and this second part really captived me. But no doubt that Donna Tartt is an excellent writer. It's a book about love and loss, about the capacity to reinvent ourselves, and a love letter to great art. Even though it didn't captivate me right away, I really recommend its reading. I read it a few weeks ago, and there are a few quotes that are still in my mind, it's a very memorable book. I also found out that, last year, there was a movie based on this book, so that's definitely on my list of movies to watch, I'm really curious about it.
