A retrospectiva do ano já está feita (podem ler o post AQUI), mas tinha de vos trazer também os meus livros favoritos do ano passado. Como sabem, em 2019 o meu objectivo era ler pelo menos um livro por mês. A leitura acabou por se tornar um hábito e li 29 livros no ano passado. Escolher apenas cinco foi bastante difícil, mas aqui está o meu top 5 de livros favoritos lidos no ano passado. Já leram algum deles?
The review of my year is done (you can read the post HERE), but I had to also write about the best books I've read last year. As you know, in 2019, my goal was to read at least one book each month. Reading really became a habit, and I ended up reading 29 books last year. Choosing just five was very hard, but here are my top 5 of favourite books I read last year. Have you read any of these?

Adoro biografias e livros de memórias. Em 2019 li vários, mas este da Lily Allen foi dos meus favoritos. Na altura escrevi que foi "dos livros de memórias mais honesto e brutal que alguma vez li" e, passado todo este tempo, continuo a dizer o mesmo. Os problemas da cantora com o álcool e drogas sempre foram algo público, mas saber o seu ponto de vista e o seu lado da história foi algo que me cativou imenso durante a leitura deste livro.
I really love biographies and memoirs. In 2019, I read a lot, but this one by Lily Allen was my favourite. At the time I wrote that was "one of the most honest and brutal memories I've ever read", and, after all this time, I still agree with that. Her problems with alcohol and drugs were always something very public, but knowing her point of view and her side of the story was something that really captivated me while reading this book.

No ano passado descobri o David Sedaris e li três dos seus livros, mas o Calypso (o seu último lançamento) foi o meu favorito. É um escritor que tem a capacidade de falar de aspectos do dia-a-dia, que quase sempre nos conseguimos identificar, mas sempre com um registo humorístico que nos deixa sempre a rir à gargalhada.
Last year I fell in love with David Sedaris' work and read three of his books, but Calypso (his latest book) was my favourite. He's a writer that has the ability to talk about aspects of daily life that we all can relate to but always keeping his sense of humour that really makes you laugh out loud.

Também no ano passado li dois livros da Sally Rooney. Gostei de ambos, mas o 'Conversas Entre Amigos' cativou-me de outra forma. Como vos disse na altura, é uma história de amor, mas bem mais complexa do que aquilo que estamos habituamos e foi isso mesmo que me fez adorar este livro.
I also read two books by Sally Rooney last year. I liked them both, but 'Conversations With Friends' caught my attention me in a different way. As I told you at the time, it's a love story, but way much more complex than what we're used to, and that's exactly what made me love this book.
Acho que muitos dos livros que lemos, de uma forma ou de outra, são histórias de amor ou sobre relações amorosas, por isso foi bastante refrescante ler um livro sobre amizade. É uma história de amizade entre três raparigas, os seus altos e baixos, e como esta vai mudando ao longo dos anos. Além de ter adorado toda a história, algo que me fez gostar ainda mais deste livro foi todas as referências que tem de Londres.
I think that a lot of the books we read, in a way or another, are love stories of about romantic relationships, that's why I found very refreshing reading a book about friendship. It's a story about the friendship between three girls, its highs and lows, and how it changed throughout the years. I really loved the story, but something that made me like it a bit more was all the London references.
5. I Love Dick by Chris Kraus
Também ainda não escrevi nenhum post sobre este livro, pois foi o último que li no ano passado, mas gostei mesmo muito. É bastante diferente de todos os livros que já li, pois a história é escrita entre cartas e transcrições de chamadas telefónicas. É uma história bastante complexa, entre a ficção e factos reais, mas foi uma leitura mesmo muito interessante.
I didn't write anything about this book yet since it was the last book I read last year, but I really liked it. It's very different from all the book I have ever read because the story is written between letters and phone calls transcriptions. It's a very complex story, between fiction and actual reality, but it was a very interesting reading.
