Não há muitas coisas que me irritam neste mundo (difícil de acreditar, eu sei, mas é verdade), mas se há algo que me chateia profundamente é quando alguém cancela planos no último minuto. Nem é o facto de se cancelar planos, eu percebo, a vida acontece e às vezes fica no caminho dos nossos planos. É o facto de ser no último momento que me irrita. O que sinto é que estou a tirar tempo do meu dia para alguém e vejo esse tempo a ser desrespeitado. Mas sem dúvida que é algo que se vê cada vez mais, vivemos numa época que parece ser aceitável fazer isso. Fazer planos e cancela-los é super fácil devido à tecnologia e é algo que já define a nossa geração. Se gostarem tanto de memes quanto eu, há imensos exactamente sobre este tema (podem ver alguns exemplos nesta página). Eu não sou santa nenhuma, já cancelei vários planos, mas fiquei sempre a sentir-me mal e foi sempre por alguma razão bem forte, porque sei o quão decepcionante é estares entusiasmado com alguma coisa e depois cancelar no último memento. Por isso, da próxima vez que começaram a escrever a típica mensagem "Olá, desculpa, mas...", pensem duas vezes, podem acabar por alienar os vossos amigos.
There are not a lot of things that get on my nerves, I'm actually a pretty chilled out person, but something that really annoys me is when someone cancels plans at the last minute. It's not even cancelling the plan itself that annoys me, I get it, we all have lives, and sometimes that gets in the way. It's being at the last minute that it's very irritating for me. You're basically setting aside your time for someone and not having it respected at all. We're living the age of flaking. Making plans and then cancelling them is really easy thanks to technology, and bailing on plans has come to define our generation. If you're into memes as I am, there are loads of them exactly about this (just take a lot at this page for a few examples). I'm not a saint, I've cancelled on people many times before, but I always felt bad about it, and had a good reason for it, because I know how disappointing it is when you are excited about something to happen, and then someone bails at the last moment. So next time you're starting to write the typical "Hey, I'm sorry but..." text message,, just think twice, you may end up alienating friends.
