Depois de ter estado vários dias em casa, consegui pôr as minha leituras em dia. Acabei alguns livros (de que vos irei falar brevemente) e encomendei outros que mal posso esperar por começar a ler. Estes são então os livros que estão na minha reading list neste momento.
After all these days at home, I finally managed to catch up with all my books. I finished some (that I will talk to you about very soon) and bought a few that I can't wait to start reading. So these are the books that are on my reading list right now.
Como sabem, sou uma grande fã do trabalho da Patti Smith e o livro "Apenas Miúdos" é dos meus favoritos. Tenho lido todos os seus livros, mas desconhecia o "Devoção". A verdade é que é um livro de 2017, mas só agora foi traduzido para português, por isso só ter sabido da sua existência agora. É um testemunho do processo criativo da artista e é já o próximo livro que vou começar a ler.
As you know, I'm a really big fan of Patti Smith and "Just Kids" by her is my favourite book ever. I've been reading all her books, but I didn't know about "Devotion'. It's a book from 2017, but only now was translated to Portuguese so that's why I only knew about it right now. It's an exploration of her creative process and I'm actually going to start reading it today.
A premissa deste livro é "The Power Of Introverts In A World That Can't Stop Talking". Sempre fui uma pessoa introvertida e sempre senti que vivemos numa sociedade que encara as características de um introvertido como algo negativo. Acho que este livro vem mudar isso um bocadinho e parece-me mesmo muito interessante.
The subtitle of this book is "The Power Of Introverts In A World That Can't Stop Talking". I always thought of myself as an introvert person and I always felt that our society sees all the introvert's traits as something negative. I think this book is trying to change that and it sounds very interesting to me.
Já há algum tempo que não leio romances e este livro da Sally Rooney parece-me um bom recomeço. Teve críticas muito positivas e inclusive vai ser adaptado para uma série de televisão. Foca-se na amizade e relação entre dois adolescentes e de como esta vai mudando ao longo dos anos.
It has been a while since I've read a novel and this book by Sally Rooney looks like a good start. It had very good reviews and there's going to be a TV series based on this book. It focuses on the friendship and relationship between two teenagers and how that changes along the years.
