Why I Haven't Attend Fashion Week This Season

me lembro da primeira vez a que fui a um desfile de moda. O blog devia
ter uns poucos meses e penso que na altura assisti a um desfile da
Daniela Barros no Portugal Fashion. Para mim, tudo era bastante novo e
lembro-me de pensar que realmente pertencia ali. Foi um sentimento tão
incrível que é difícil explicar por palavras. Desde esse dia que fui a
quase todas as edições do Portugal Fashion e cheguei mesmo a ir por duas
vezes à ModaLisboa. Mas, infelizmente, ao longo dos anos esse
sentimento foi-se perdendo. É sempre tanta confusão que, simplesmente,
já não tenho vontade de lá estar. E depois, as pessoas. As fashion weeks
deixaram de ser sobre o trabalho dos designers, mas sim sobre as
pessoas que lá estão e, infelizmente, cá em Portugal, nem é sobre o streetstyle,
mas sim sobre ridicularizar as pessoas que lá estão. Do que ouviram
falar nesta última edição do Portugal Fashion? Tenho a certeza que não
foi sobre o regresso da marca Marques' Almeida a solo nacional, mas sim
do vídeo que a Magg fez em que perguntava a diversas pessoas sobre o que
achavam sobre a tendência que o "designer" Jair Bolsonaro lançou. É
ridículo, claro, mas e que tal falar do incrível trabalho dos designers
nacionais? Com isto não estou a dizer que nunca mais irei a uma fashion week,
claro que sim, não são só coisas más. Adoro ver o trabalho dos
designers nacionais, inspirar-me e é sempre uma altura em que dá para
rever pessoas que já não vemos há algum tempo, mas gostava que se
prestasse mais atenção ao que vamos lá de facto fazer.

still remember the first time I went to a fashion show. The blog was a
few months old and I remember that at the time I saw Daniela Barros at
Portugal Fashion. To me, everything was quite new and exciting and I remember
feeling that I belonged there. It was such a nice feeling that is hard
to explain in words. Since that day that I attended almost every edition
of Portugal Fashion and I actually also went to Lisbon Fashion Week
twice. But unfortunately after these years that feeling fade away. It's
always so messy and crowded that I just can't find the will to go. And
then, the people. Fashion Week stopped being about the designers' work,
but about the people. And unfortunately here in Portugal is not even
about the street style, it's all about making fun of the people who attend
fashion weeks. What have you heard about from this last edition of
Portugal Fashion? I'm pretty sure you haven't heard about the return of
Marques' Almeida to Portugal, but you heard about the video Magg did in
which they asked people what they thought about the trend the "designer"
Jair Bolsonaro launched. It's ridiculous of course, but what about
talking about the amazing work Portuguese designers are doing? I'm not
saying that I will never attend fashion week ever again, not all at,
it's not all bad things. I love seeing the work of the Portuguese
designers, it's always very inspiring and it's a time where you can meet
with some people you haven't seen in a while, but I would like to all
of us to be more focus on the reason why we are there.
