Devo começar este post por dizer que não vão ler nada que ainda não tenham lido sobre este assunto, mas desde que soube que o Hedi Slimane ia para a Celine que tenho estado super entusiasmada para ver a colecção e estava a planear escrever este post sobre a mesma. Sempre adorei o trabalho do Hedi Slimane tanto como designer, como fotógrafo. Sempre me identifiquei imenso com a estética dele e *drums roll* adorei esta colecção. Adorei aquele primeiro vestido de cocktail em polka dot, adorei todos os blazers que ele faz tão bem e adorei a paleta de cores (ou a falta dela neste caso). Mas eu adoro tudo isto, porque sempre gostei da estética dele e esta vibe mais rock&roll em moda, mas tenho de concordar com tudo o que se tem dito, não é, de todo, Celine. Esta colecção podia muito bem ter sido da sua época na Saint Laurent ou até mesmo na Dior Homme, visto que também introduziu uma colecção de homem na Celine. A mulher que a Phoebe Pilo criou durante estes dez anos na marca já não existe e eu estava à espera que o Hedi adaptase essa mulher à sua visão, mas, sem dúvida, que não o fez. Quando disso no meu instagram que estava a escrever este post e vos perguntei a vossa opinião, uma leitora disse-me que desejava que a única coisa que estivesse em falta na Celine fosse o acento e consigo perceber isto completamente, mas também estou muito contente por o Hedi estar de volta ao mundo da moda e mal posso esperar por ver que mais vai ele andar a fazer!
I must start this post by saying you're not going to read anything you haven't read before about this subject, but since I knew Hedi Slimane was going to Celine that I was super excited to see the collection and was planning on writing what I thought about it here. I've always loved Hedi Slimane and his work, both as a designer and as a photographer. I can really relate to his aesthetic and *drums roll* I loved this collection. I loved that first silk cocktail dress in polka dot, I loved all the tuxedo blazers that he does so well and loved the colour palette (or the lack of it). But I love all that, because I love his aesthetic and I love this kind of rock&roll vibe in fashion, but I have to agree with what everyone is saying, it's not Celine at all. That collection could totally be from the time he was at Saint Laurent or even at Dior Homme since he now added menswear to Celine as well. The women Phoebe Philo created during this ten years is completely gone and I was kind of expecting Hedi would adapt his vision into what Phoebe has done before, but he sure didn't! When I told on my Instagram that I was writing this post and ask for some thoughts about it, a girl wrote that she wished the only thing missing at Celine right now was the accent and I totally get it, but I'm also glad Hedi is back in the fashion world and I cannot wait for what's to come!
